On Weds night my better half managed to drop my mobile phone whilst getting out of the car on High Pavement. Within about five minutes I realised that neither of us had the phone, and went back to the car to look for it, but could not find it.
My girlfriend rang the phone, and a couple of minutes later a very kind chap who worked at the NIC rang back on it to say he had found it and was about to hand it in at the NIC.
I arranged to meet him outside the main entrance in a couple of minutes, and then I was re-united with the phone.
I thanked him and offered him some money to go and buy a drink, which he refused and said that he hoped if he ever lost something, it would be handed in.
Being Self Employed, the phone is very important to me, and if by any chance the chap is reading this, I would like to thank you again, and hope that if you ever find yourself in the situation I was in, that someone will repay your kindness.

The saddest thing is that that event was noteworthy. I'd like to live in a society where it isn't.

Left my phone at work two days ago and the cheeky buggers changed my desktop/screensaver, adding their own page instead.I would not have done this to anyone else.I feel it is a bit naughty as it is a personal item.Makes me wonder how nosey they had been regards reading my messages too.

Why not? They only changed his background, they hardly sent out inappropriate messages like my housemates would.

Why not? They only changed his background, they hardly sent out inappropriate messages like my housemates would. my mates sent picture messages of GOATSE out to a number of people from a passed out mates phone. at least that didnt happen spik. in all fairness, they hardly did anything wrong and you seem a bit sore about a schoolboy prank. most phones come with an option to lock the screen, you should start doing that if you are going to get upset as easy as this.

Some people value their privacy Buster woah! this has blown my mind! do they really? if Spik values his privacy, then he should have been more careful not to leave his phone at work and he also should have taken another precautionary measure, one that i have previously mentioned. KEY LOCK. its not rocket science. *edit* one way or another, things may go awry and spik may cockerel up and leave his phone at work. it shouldnt happen but people make mistakes. just like if he leaves his phone at work and has a key lock on then he wouldnt be posting about this. its the nature of the world we live in, we dont have world peace, but until we do, people are going to take advantage of situations for a laugh or for malicious reasons. either way, to me, it does seem like a bit of an overreaction for a simple prank.

does this count?
me and my girlfriend went shopping in town, the day after boxing day and on returning to the car park we exhausted both our pockets and her bag of small change to pay for the token, but we still had 30p left to pay. a queue of about 8 people had amassed behind us and the lady next in the queue paid our 30p for us.
i dont think it was a kindness of a stranger, although it did help us out loads and we were very thankful to her, just that she was really annoyed that we were holding the line up as i would have had to pay the last 30p on my card.
