It seems BMW Sauber F1 are being bought by the same mysterious investment group that bought Notts County.
Qadbak Investments Ltd. "represents the interests of certain Middle East and European-based families."
I wonder if their entrance on the big stage of F1 will result in County fans being any the wiser over who it was that actually bought their club.

Might this weaken the owners interest/grip on a future Notts County.I mean you can only buy so much. That will be the next bit of news in a few months time.

The money men have apparently little involvement in the running of County and I reckon they'll probably have very little involvement in the running of the F1 team too (though they're probably likely to make it to more races than matches). My understanding was that sport (including the F1 team) is a relatively small part of this investment fund's portfolio.

Your right Doughnut, and frankly as long as the team can post the necessary bond with F1, then everything is okay.

Very interesting: F1 Sauber Takeover Could be CollapsingSauber's takeover by the Qadbak group is on the verge of collapse, according to the Swiss weekly newspaper Sonntagszeitung. The report said the main figure behind the consortium is Russell King, who has spent time in jail for insurance fraud and had assets frozen by court. The newspaper claims that, contrary to speculation, Qadbak's F1 investors are in fact not funded by wealthy Middle Eastern sources. The lack of real financing could explain the FIA's hesitance in granting the team its 2010 entry, with even BMW's legal department reportedly surprised to learn about King's apparent inability to fund the project. Sauber linked with US investorsWith the Qadbak buyout reportedly in tatters, another investor is set to step in and rescue the Sauber team, according to Germany's Auto Motor und Sport.

It's almost as if they're not what they seem to be.
There is confusion and mystery surrounding everything that Qadbak/Munto/SCH do, so much cloak and daggers work. I understand the unwaivering loyalty that the Notts fans show, but there's no smoke without mirrors and i'm bloody glad they don't own my football club.

Fair point but all this "smoke and mirrors" is guesswork, so far I havent seen any FACTS which would worry me. I dont know how the club runs fully, but I dont think we had transparency (later proven to be dodgy) under the trust. The fact is, we would 99% certainly be in administration by now if it werent for the takeover. Put that VS a few journos looking for a story against a company who have already invested around £1m for our goalie for a start and were willing to pay Sol £20k a week (40k if you beleive the press, I dont) and I beleive we are better off? Naive? Maybe, but the worse case scenario under the new owners is still better than the likely case under the previous authority. We cant all be perfect like Forest, in fact, how long did it take you to pay for the city ground stands? How much council help did you get? Forest fans (most fans out of L2 for that matter, not a dig)will not understand what its like to come so close to losing your club, then see it deteriorate back into a big mess, only to be saved by a company who have come in, promised millions, paid our debts off, purchased us our record signing and shelled out a fortune in wages. It may not be "perfect" but its far more than we could ever have hoped for otherwise realistically.

Rich, Forest were ten minutes from administration when we sold Jenas. We were £25m in debt and had to sell the family silver to stay afloat. We know what it's like to nearly lose our club.

Fair enough, cant say I pay so much intrest to you guys as you all seem to pay the other way Was Nigel Doherty (apologies if spelt wrong) your chairman at the time? Edit: The point being though, you had players/family silver to sell. We didnt have anything
