oh and you are forgetting that i have seen how the show depicts the environment and setting of baltimore over 6 seasons, which doesnt just focus on the projects. it also focuses on the higher class problems and the corruption of politics, the dock ports, the educational system, journalism and how the papers depict the streets and baltimore.
its pretty niave to think that i know anything about the city first hand. but i have alot of knowledge about the place through my own enquiry.

you guys ought to give Eastbound and Down a try. quality tv show that only ran for 6 episodes about a failed baseball star trying to get to the majors. Adam Mckay and Will Ferrel had a hand in it and it stars Danny McBride.
very very funny.

Been watching The Wire! Enjoying it.
Dont think it's as good as The Shield yet in terms of action and violence and those moments that make your stomach feel all funny when an episode ends............but its only half way through the first series and its getting there!

Ashes to Ashes new series starts on Monday! +1 what morley said ;D I like this series, but I enjoyed "Life on Mars" just that little bit more. I wish they had done more series of that. Though not as many as "Heartbeat" which supposedly started around 1963/4, going on the fact in the very first episode there were a bunch of MODs. Well it has now been running for 17 years, and it is still in the sixties. Think they need to call a TIME LORD to sort the temporal anomaly out. ;D

Loved Life on Mars but was really disappointed with the last Ashes to Ashes series, so have decided to not watch this series -so it will probably turn out to be great! Just hoping for the news Robin Hood has been cancelled - seriously, how is that onto its 3rd series??! And please don't let them comission that awful teenage Van Helsing thing that was on Sat nights before Robin Hood returned - awful. The Wire series 2 starts on bbc 2 on Monday night!!!

Bat for Lashes are all over Wogan's show. The Wire was at times genius. The way they married the drug trade with the life we all know [see the chess scene as an example] was rrrsome.
Most def!

Most def! you all took your time to start watching it... i started watching it alongside it running on bbc2, though i watched the boxsets. in about 3 or 4 weeks i have managed to watch 6 seasons of the show. it just doesnt get tired. the final episode is 90 minutes of quality.

Thank god The Wire season 2 has started to get good! The first 3 nearly bored me to tears! lol
The BEST British TV Show - Not Going Out - has been cancelled by the BBC!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Probably eats into their budget for shamelessly promoting new labour!

I've just finished watching Prison Break. For anyone who's watched the whole lot, there are 2 extra episodes at the end of season 4 that weren't broadcast in America, they were released on DVD. They're not listed on IMDB but are listed on Wikipedia as Season 4 Episodes 23 & 24.
I don't know if they were broadcast here or not, but if you've not watched them yet look out for "The Final Break" on DVD.
Edit: Just had a quick look on Amazon and The Final Break only seems to be available as a US import. I don't know if that means it's just not been released here yet or if it means these extra 2 episodes are included with the Season 4 DVD over here.
