TBH I don't really care what the NHL do, we are miles away from them. We need to be in-line with the likes of the ECHL, CHL and all the other leagues that the ELITE attracts new players from. I'm not sure what rules they follow? I hope it's ZT, otherwise we could have teething trouble every season because of the high turnover of players we have. All leagues in the world from this season will be operating under Zero tolerence, can you imagine how bad it would be for recruiting if we were the only league that didnt! Thanks, Good to know that we are in line with other leagues of our standard. TBH if we didn't go ZT I don't believe that we would have any trouble recruiting, there must be many many players who's careers will take a downward route because of ZT. However I agree that we'd have major problems attracting any small, skilled players.

To be honest if iv got one concern its that players in the elite league arnt NHLers, they are generally less skilled and older (well d'ur!) which means they arnt the skaters of the NHL so instead of not hooking people they will HAVE to hook them and just take the penalties By this do you mean that they will actively choose to take a penalty instead of trying to catch the other player legally? I would have thought that it wouldn't make any difference because as long as the players you are playing against are all the same standard (well, near enough) then your skating ability shouldn't make any difference.

Accidental high sticks, if the ref had of called it properly you would probably of got 2 + 2! lol
Well the Lions game yesturday was nothing like ZT. The first period, no one was sure what they could get away with and so nothing much happened. The referee wasnt calling anything, and the game was 5 on 5 for most of the game. Then Blackburn saw what they could get away with and the high checks, slashing and holding came back without any calls been made. The penalties were very low and the referee was using last years calls. All of a sudden, it was 4 4 with around 6 mins to go and ZT comes in to play! penalties galore, especially to the Lions, in the last 5 mins.
The trouble with ZT is that all referees will call it their way. They will call what they perceive to be ZT. Teams that get the same referee week in week out (Belfast and Hicks!!! ) will get used to the referee and get away with a lot more.
ZT in my eyes is a good thing. At the end of the day, it just means that the rules that have always been there (hooking, holding, slashing) are been called where as in the past they have been overlooked. IT WILL WORK OUT IN THE END! we just need consistency from the referees and patience from players and supporters alike!

i will back track and say if the excitement and play we had in the back end of the second and all the third is the result of ZT im more than happy, i do see how gradually introducing it would be hard but is a good way to bring in most new things. sooner its up and running the better now, its here to stay so no more whining from me ;D

Zt is Zt and there can be no in between yet I was not excited by it. My only fear is that the refs discreation will be so broad between all of them. At anytime watching hockey over the seasons also you can get so frustrated watching the calls. With this ZT I can only assume that 'fighters' will have less of a job to do.As the refs will be there first.....
