Went to see IJ last night and TBH i think im disappointed. i say think as i came out of the cinema i really wasn't sure what i thought of the film and whether i liked it or not. it was a little far fetched but then its an Indiana Jones film its comes with the territory i just think it went a little bit to far.
the film's humour is quite tongue in cheek and it seems that lucas and spielberg just simply had a truck load of cash and decided to do what they want.
i still cant make my mind up on it 24 hours later. but i was asked to rate it out of 5 and id give it 3.5.

We quite enjoyed it. You knew what was round the corner most of the time, but it's Indiana Jones, and shouldn't really expect more. The ending, and I think this is most peoples gripe, is a bit far fetched to say the least though.

I have to say that for anyone that " erhs" regarding the end of the film, have you not seen the other three? They aren't exactly down to earth endings are they?

Sparta, ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON!
They've had Pandoras Box, a cup made by Jesus and an ancient tribe who can possess people. Why is it that aliens is seen to be such a stupid step?
Put it this way. What's more likely to exist - Aliens or Jesus?

Just got back from watching 'Prom Night' and I have to say I thought it was a very good film! On first thought, I presumed it to be another boring same-old same-old horror, but I actually enjoyed it. I thought it was filmed well and had some decent twists and jumpy (If that's a word) sections.
I'd give it an 8/10 personally.

Went to see Gone Baby Gone the other night. Ben Affleck directed film that had been delayed because of the Madaleine McCann story, and the little girl in the film does bear some resemblance. Quite a good paced film with various twists along the way and a massive dilemma at the end. My girlfriend and I were a bit split on the choices we would have made.

Went to see The Incredible Hulk last night, and it is just that.....Incredible.
Another top Marvel film this summer with some nice references to the original tv series and a nice cameo in it aswell.
Any comic book geek will have a great time with all sorts of little references of things to come, but saying that its a great stand alone film.
The CGI is good and Norton and Tyler to a nice job.
Oh and you don't need to wait until after the credits this time either.

havent seen it in years. its quite bizarre that a film like that, where justice is served, can still leave a bitter taste in a viewers mouth.

went to see dark knight, brilliant performance by heath ledger took the role of the joker to a whole new level, shame he isnt around to bask in all the glory! This role was a great illustration of the immense talent we have lost so tragically!

The Dark Knight : EXCELLENT MOVIE. SEE IT.
As previously stated, Ledger took his performance to a whole new level. He made Nicolson's Joker look like a circus clown.

sorry went into a billy joel moment then ! ;D Always good to see The Joel get a mention Oldman. Can't beat him. As for Ledger, I've not seen it yet so can't comment really, but I can kind of see Buster's point. The films got a lot of added intrigue because of his death, and as a big old cynic I must admit to raised eyebrows when his co-stars were talking him up for a posthumous oscar a while back (which he may well deserve, as I say I can't judge that yet).

Brilliant...utterly brilliant. This film has everything I want in a film, story, plot, action, special effects, great acting, & a great cast. It ticks all the right boxes. It's almost become a cliche - & I was suspecting it was simply because the guy is no longer with us - about how good Heath Ledger is in this film. I was neither a fan of his before, nor did I dislike his work - Now...I don't care if it's a cliche, I don't care if it's predictable to say...Heath Ledger STEALS this film, & he rocks. A truly, truly stunning performance, he's perfect for this role, & he plays the evilness of the Joker so well. The other actors, as great as they are, are almost reduced to 'bit players' & supporting roles. We seemingly have all been robbed of a very great talent.
A fine film indeed.

Have you seen the film, if he was alive or dead his performance was stunning, as for the other juvenile comment.what i would expect really glad to see you havnt let me down! I would thought an expert on everything in life would have seen the film before they comment so negatively about it! Maybe Mama mia is more your taste? You did get one thing right though everyman and his dog should see it, because spellbinding performances like Heath's in that film only come around very rarely in a generation, and not because he is dead. A bit like Jack in "the shining" or "one flew over the cuckoos nest", nobody will top performances like those! Or maybe Brando in "on the waterfront!

The Dark Knight
I went to see this today and it is a truly great film, even if you do not like comic books characters it is a must see.
Christian bale deserves an awful lot of credit, apart from the silly voice he plays the role so very well.
ledger- he played all characteristics of the joker so well, the subtle humour, the complete raving lunatic, the utterly sadistic violent madman (the pencil scene for one). i was probably one of the most cynical peoplem with regards to judging his performance because of his untimely passing however he deserves everysingle piece of credit he gets for his portrayal of the joker
the film itself-great action, funny moments, numerous characters with personal choices to have to deal with, some good twists along the way.
this along with batman begins has brought back creditbility for the franchise after the utter shocker that was batman and robin.
heres to hoping for another installment

When Curt Kobain died yes a big media interest and yes people would be wanting to buy Nirvana records, and corporations as they are, fed this 5 minute frenzy! Since though Nirvana have still sold at a reasonable rate, simply because their music was good and each new generation can hear it on the radio and then may want to buy it. You have a very cynical view of life if you think people will buy Music that is pants just because the person has died young! So in this order Hendrix still sells records because he was probably the most unique guitarist of my generation, and this music attracts young and old because he was that good not because he is dead. For John Lennon, George Harrison, Janis Joplin, Jim Croce, Marvin Gaye, Otis Reading, Bob Marley see above all people with immense talent who have left a lasting mark on Music of any genre! They are legends because of their talent not because of the fact that they are dead! To take your died young so buy the records cynical theory to the absolute extreme Why isnt Mozart doing better, died at thirty something and they are all on CD. You theory is far too simplistic it has the narrow view that you know why people buy CD's, without considering for one moment that as the data is only your supposition it maybe a tad suspect! You may know however why record corporations promote this material though, it is called good business! So Buster go see the film and then give us your wisdom on Heath's performance!

I have to disagree on the Nirvan thing oldman.
Hendrix was unique, no one was doing anything like he was.
Nirvana on the other hand were part of a scene within rock at the time which was populated by Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains etc. All had similar characteristics within their music and all were at similar level of popularity, but when Kurt Cobain killed himself, all the media attention turned to Nirvana, and as a result they became hugely popular and got more credit for writing some decent songs than they probably should have.
When Layne Staley of Alice in Chains died from an OD a couple of years back, no one cared, because that style of music has been and gone.
If it had been the other way round, it would be Alice In Chains still played on the radio, and still selling a lot of records.
Sorry - back on topic now!
I cant wait to see The Dark Knight. My housemate went yesterday. She is a pretty tough critic usually and even she loved it and said Ledger is awesome.
