A big well done is deserved for panthers it looks like they gave it there all and u carnt ask for more than that. we out shot them 25 to 45 and by the sounds of it it was one of those days. Not to dissapointed because we still got a point. BRING ON BAISINGSTOKE ;D

Did we score any of our Pens? no!!! Oh dear. Still a point on the road against a very good team is a decent enough result. Early days.

My mate Alison in Belfast say to tell you all it was a brilliant game and well played but the ZT has took the shine off it. Too many penalties.

Although basingstoke look to have strenghtened up From the THF review of their game tonight it doesn't look like they're especially well drilled yet though, so I'd expect you guys to come out with 2 points from the game, even with all the travelling the team have to do. 1 point away against Belfast is a good result to start off the season, especially in the O

The only stat that's important (&won't change) is 4-3. Bit concerned that we played large chunks of the game against 4 (& 3) players and couldn't convert. Either Minard was awesome or our PP was poor (again)

Two players not mentioned who maybe we all thought were going to be match winners, Stevens, McCaslan, any ideas on how they played?
Those figures are not showing any for the 3rd period "Shots on Goal " so it might change yet
Think all 3rd period SOG on lumped in with OT Also think if we outshot Giants by 20 theres a good chance MM has had a good game. You can't go saying our PP is crap IF you didn't see the game EDit: Seems MM was MoM forGiants and all our goals were PP ;D

What worries me (not with the team) but are the refs calling 'legal hits' aswell. There seems to be a lot of PIM's for Charging, boarding, cross checking etc.... ....Please tell me the refs arent banishing players away for a mid ice hit

I'm suprised Shmyr didnt get any penalties. You'd think the bigger, slower guys like him would do. And with Belfast getting penalties called for Roughing, Charging, Elbowing and Unsportmanlike Conduct........i'm worried that he DIDNT get any penalties! lol

You had lots of shots yes, but most were from the blueline and were either deflected or missed completely, only about 26 shots actually made it to the net.
Full strength the Giants looked a much better side, Panthers looked OK but nothing more than that.
Our penalty killing was exceptional, we just need to get a handle on these new rules, you guys handled that much better than us.
I'll take a first home win after having no pre-season thankyou very much.
Early days though.

Shig, some of your points are my concerns too, don't think the paying public in NHL will put up with it for long, then we will follow suit.

But the SOG count is, as it's name suggests, shots on goal right? Lots from the blueline I can believe, but surely that makes sense when we have the likes of Neilson and Krajicek back there to wind them up?

ally85, why are you suprised that we get no credit from a Giants fan, don't forget they are the best.

Just been out and heard the result. In all fairness, I am fairly pleased with the result as a point away from home is pretty decent. I shall wait for tomorrow to see how they play. I seriously cannot wait (I just hope I make face off ;D)
