Strange that Panthers bring out a similar jacket not so long ago then suddenly Steelers do it too... both awful. Tunny has a point Jono.... you do have some obsession with Finnerty I think he's totally overated and I don't like him, so sue me!

people are commenting on the varsity jackets saying steelers copied our idea. oh noes! heaven forbid we might copy an idea of theirs, not so unlike a behind the scenes dvd.

After reading the latest news article on the Panthers website, I've written a new article relating to it and a marketing idea. Comments welcome as always. Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained

Nothing Ventured, Nothing GainedMakes sense Jono. Lets face it, an empty blue seat brings in no income (isn't that right Mr Phillips?). Still, unless GM thinks of it first, I can see your email given quite short thrift. I await news of a response with great interest, and wonder if you'll be credited with the idea if it's tried successfully in the future.

After reading the latest news article on the Panthers website, I've written a new article relating to it and a marketing idea. Comments welcome as always. Nothing Ventured, Nothing GainedThis morning I have received an e-mail reply from the Panthers, so I have written a short updated article here.Ok fair enough they responded but they clearly haven't given it that much thought. Why can't they do what Forest do and simply take the voucher(s) from your season ticket, 'free up' your seat and issue you with new tickets, for seats together, including those of your 'paying friend'. Also add a rule of only 2 vouchers per season ticket per season to stop misuse and add that they cant be used for Sheff and Cov games or something. I am not part of the 'slag everything that Panthers management do' bandwagon but that response, swift as it may be, is rubbish. It's that swift that it begs the question did it ever make it any further than the eyes of the person responding? Was it considered or just dismissed out of hand as the ramblings of another fan too keen to clamber over the 25 foot wall fence that protects the inner circle of Nottingham Panthers HQ. All these ideas that are 'in the pot' yet the only 'marketing strategies' if you can call them that, every employed are 96 point font "Why not bring a friend" and 'The bigger the roar the bigger the score' at the end of yet another badly formatted, gramatically disgraceful internet story (or non story as most seem to be). Have they been to ANY of the Nottingham Rugby games at Meadow Lane and handed out panthers flyers, perhaps with £1 off when you present the flyer at the NIC to buy a ticket? No never. Why do I say there and not Forest or County - because it makes sense, there are a lot of people who go to the Rugby who are willing to try a new sport, see what its about. They are the right demographic. Do Panthers even know what the demographic of their support is? Their ST base maybe but the more casual fan? no because they take no details from them whatsoever, if you don't own a ST they don't know who you are so how can they market to you. These are not master business strategies, it's simple A level if not lower than that business knowledge.

I love this reply posted on TCW: SUNDAY IS GUARANTEED FUND DAY AT HARBOUR STATION! Saint John Sea Dogs President Wayne Long announced today that the team’s next home game, scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 25 at 4pm versus the Quebec Remparts, has officially been designated ‘Guaranteed Fun Day’. “We’re confident that our product is of supreme quality, and we’ve chosen to champion that notion by guaranteeing the entertainment value of our next home game,” said Long. “Hopefully any hockey fan that has not yet been to a Sea Dogs game this season will choose to take advantage of this unique offer.” Any fan purchasing a ticket to this match who is not satisfied with the level of entertainment they enjoy will receive a free ticket to one of three upcoming home games. The games available for redemption of a free ticket (subject to availability, upper bowl only) as part of this promotion are: January 28, 7:00pm vs. P.E.I. Rocket February 22, 4:00pm vs. Cape Breton Screaming Eagles March 4, 7:00pm vs. P.E.I. Rocket Fans that do not enjoy their game experience on Sunday must present their used ticket to the Harbour Station Box Office and select which of the three designated redemption games they wish to attend. " They couldnt do it for a Hull or caps home game though, everyone would be queueing for their free tickets before the start of the 3rd

They couldnt do it for a Hull or caps home game though, everyone would be queueing for their free tickets before the start of the 3rd I know what you're driving at but isn't that the point. That strategy is almost willing fans to complain so they get them to see two games for the price of one. There is one problem - if you didn't have fun or enjoy it or whatever you want to call it why would you want to go back?
