I also agree with Panther4lyf regarding David getting the captaincy, cracking news. I'm looking forward to a big season from Clarke

Full of confidence ;D
Neilson and Simoes are 2 big characters and look like great fun! As for the team well what can i say looked good on the skills side of it but most importantly they looked like they were having fun and look to have really bonded. If nothing else we will certainly be entertained this year ;D

For those who didn't make, or forgot their camera, there are some pics on Panthers Online for you all. www.panthersonline.co.uk. I noticed that taking pics tonight, all the lads were smiling and I loved the bit at the end where they all got in the center circle as a team. Neilson and Simoes look good together and the team in general just seem fluid and together. Good work Mr Ellis. ;D Rob

Looks like we have a right couple of characters in Neilson and Simoes..... ;D
Going on both last night and the Bracknell game - I'm beginning to think we might have been fooled in the past few years as to what a true TEAM actually looks like. It's a bit early to be certain, of course... but all the signs are that this is one cohesive unit Mike Ellis has built up.
WELL DONE CAPTAIN CLARKIE! ;D It's been obvious Clarkie has been a leader on and off the ice for a while (wearing the A with not one but two previous coaches?) - this just seals it nicely. And alongside two A's with great experience... Interesting comment that the dressing-room vote had a totla of TWELVE players on the team nominated by their peers to wear the letters... I think that's a good sign.
Poor old Matt Myers... couldn't buy a goal last night! ;D Still - he showed on Sunday he can still win face-offs, so that's a useful skill... and if anyone can bring him up to his obvious potential, it's Ellis.
I have to say - the new dark jerseys looked well spiffing! I usually prefer the dark ones, and this year is no exception. Very nice...
No more random thoughts at the moment...

Only til Nutty (Panther-in-specs) texted me at around 9pm did I realised that I had forgot to go to something, and yes, it was this. Gutted. And I'm going to be late arriving on Sunday as well. My start to the season is getting worse and worse haha

have the jerseys turned more to a proper mustard color or was that me... I saw three jerseys from the pictures that had been taken. The one that hasn't got the 60 year anniversary is a proper gold colour, but at a guess, that is only a training jersey.

I don't know much about this sort of thing but i am sure that there is a rule saying all net minders must have one of those plastic things that hang down below the cage to protect the neck? (sorry don't know what there called!) If this is the case then Lindsey isn't legal

I dont know the rule off the top of my head tho so could be wrong www.panthersonline.co.uk/images/P1100660.JPG Looks like the players pay as much attention to Ellis as my guys do to me when im explaning drills lol

Hahaha! last night was great! Lovely to see the guya training, it was nice to see them all smiling as well, they look good as a team on the ice and from the looks of some of them, they are gonna be an entertaining bunch off the ice as well!
I felt so bad for Matty not being able to score! Bless him! At least he was laughing about it (as was everyone else!)
I have to say that the brits look amazing this year, glad Clarkie has the captain role, he deserves it!
Fun times! Cant wait for the weekend!

I couldn`t make it last night But,this morning i went down to the NIC,with my family,to pick up tickets for the first two games and guess who was training on the 2nd pad? They were playing a game between them, doing PP`s ,PKing and the like so we went down to the pad and watched them for a while. They looked very fast and a lot bigger than last year Roll on Sunday!!

My thoughts on the team(bearing in mind it was just a training session) were: Lyndsey looks as dodgy as he did at Dundee. Glove and five hole look particualy week. Woolhouse looked better than i've seen him. The defence, could well be the best in the league. I knew about most of em, but they looked like gelling together. Smear looked only good for one thing-a pasting from Cornish/Ferone. The other forwards I found looked Ok, but the Brits looked quite good(Myers will be able to find the net at some point) and Simoes looked the pick. Of the playoff champions, Tricko looks like he still is finding his feet, and Jan maybe lost a yard of pace, but i'll put that down to being early in the season. But the main impression I left with was of the big fella. Corey Neilson could be the star of the EIHL. Quality player, along side bags of on ice personality. a real gem.
