And yes Ted, I have gone. I'm in Amsterdam at the moment, Berlin tomorrow. It will be poo poo to miss the season, especially when I start to get excited about new signings but on Tuesday I see Kosice vs Zilina. Hope your having a good time dude! Enjoy

An important point, Caps don't have Tony Hand this season so how can they possibly be better than last season when you consider Hand's points average? Because the rest of the team as a whole is an improvement? (or, at least at this early stage, certainly looks to be). Sure, they've lost Toe-Knee-Hand and his points... but as good as he is, he's only one man - and there's only so much one man can do. Plus the fact their defence appears to have firmed up quite a lot - and conceding goals was a bit of a problem for them last season. Only one man? He was pretty much the only one man who got all the points for the caps last season tho! I like the look of a couple of their signings but just cant see them gelling and being competetive with no balance

According to hockeydb.com, Hand got 16+41.They've still got Martin Cingel (19+16 from only 39 games- injuries!) and Dino Bauba (16+24). It appears (unconfirmed) that they've lost Neil Stevenson-Moore (20+18)... so they've still got 2 of their top 4 scorers. And they appear (as far as we can tell) to have largely upgraded across the whole team... which is hopefully (for them) where the rest of the points will come from. On the contrary - they look more balanced than last season.

This season they look far too "euro" and players like Bauba play better when they have space to work with which they wont whilst they have no toughness. At best theyve gone sideways, but the league has got better
