Kieron Freeman has left Forest to join Derby; dear me - who is advising that kid? Not happy at Forest as he wants a shot at the first team; joins the sheep to be "in the squad just below the first team" to quote non-leage Nigel. Bizarre Yep, I cant quite get my head around this one either, strange. Hes leaving a club that seems to be going places to be in the same situation at another club that's cash-strapped and probably in for a long hard season.

Reminds me of the Kris Commons move in a way, Im sure there was an agent involved somewhere pulling the strings, very strange move and a shame, I was looking forward to seeing him develop into a good player. I reckon he will drop to league 1 in a couple of years looking for first team football

Your guess is as good as mine. Rumours abound of Higginbotham, Hammill, Lansbury, Jenas...

Sharp and Cox has the potential to be a lethal partnership, what a window forest have had in the transfer market, 6 weeks ago we were thin on the ground, now we look extremely strong in all areas

What a difference a year makes.
Get rid of Mark Arthur and the turnaround will be complete.

I think the new owners and Sean O'D have done a really good job (understatement) in a short space of time. Can't fault them really.
Squad looks to have more than enough talent AND strength in depth in midfield & up front. No complaints there. Look ok at centre back and right back. Only slight concern is no apparent cover at left back (unless one of the defenders or Cohen plays out of position) and Camp needs to stay fit as he apeears to be the only senior GK.
All in all - looking forward to to the rest of the season with an air of optimism. With a bit of luck where injuries/suspensions are concerend we should be looking at a top 6 finish IMHO

Nice post Ted, couldn't agree more.
Since Sean was appointed Forest have managed to attract some high calibre players in a very short space of time. They would have been forgiven for a slow/slugish start with hardly having any time to gel but the performances have suggested otherwise, and with a little more luck against Bolton and Huddersfield The Reds could have quite easily been going into the international break with maximum points.
As for the forwards, the signing of Sharp was just the icing on a well decorated cake for me. A proven goal scorer (at this level) and as Pidge said, his partnership with Cox has the potential to create and score a serious number of goals. Im just a little surprised Southampton made him available. Im not sure about the potential of a recall but I just hope Lambert stays fit.
As for the Midfield, one of Sean's toughests jobs will be to keep everybody happy. There is alot of talent and depth, and a few good players wont get as much pitch time as they'd like. Sean did say when he was recruting that its vitally important that players comming in must fit in the dressing room and I hope he's up to keeping the squad together. I guess time will tell on that one.
The defence looks capable but an injury or two could change all that. Cohen can (and has) covered at the back with some degree of success but I'd personally sit a little more comfortable with another defender comming in on loan when the window opens.
I'm also looking forward to the season with a lot more optimism than I had a couple of months ago. There are some really good teams in the championship but I think Forest are more than capable of making a top six finish.
I wonder whats going through Luke Chambers and Wes Morgan's mind...
