Its all just a little bit weird.'We' knew the slump couldn't last forever but the impact a few comparatively 'so-so' players (such as Stafford) but being coached by a decent coach has been marked.
Drafting a defensive player the quality of Suh can't be ignored though. Detroit's defence, once they get a fee more games under their belt, could come to be feared, though they aren't too bad now.

This is the most over-rated game in the world. Seriously? I have to admit I enjoyed last night's superbowl almost as much as I enjoyed being there to witness the Pens stuff 4 past the Rangers at MSG last month! American Football is a complex game in terms of tactics - where else would you, in the last minute of the game, find the trailing team NOT wanting to score a touchdown? Obviously it won it for them in the end but they were PRAYING they could run the clock down without Brady ending up on the offense, by holding at the one yard line and going for another down. It's a bit like anything, you have to take it in a few times to get the hang of it. I was lucky in that I learnt my way through the game in Loughborough (most successful university team in the sport in the UK) so that when I started watching NFL games I already knew why they were playing the way they were, who would run what play, match ups etc. Anyone who wants to take in a game first hand please do find your way down to Loughborough on the 25th - they're playing Nottingham Trent in the last game of the regular season and it should be a blinder. Sorry for the blatant plug but i'm coming down from Newcastle for this one so if anyone wants to join me, feel free to PM me for directions and kickoff times.

I watched the first half, of the North American sports I'd still rather watch hockey, or even baseball, but I can kindof see the appeal. All the showing off whenever you make a tackle is a bit too much for my British sensibilities though

It's a game in which people are more bothered about what goes on at half time than the game itself. It's slow, over-hyped, over-produced, tedious and seems to be played by some of the most obnoxious people ever. I mean, have you seen some of the ridiculous celebrations every single time they did anything? It's no wonder they need to have a sit down for a few minutes between every moment of note.
There's a reason the rest of the world has shunned their football and embraced ours.

The game wasn't the best at all, but the NFL is a great league week in and week out.

There's a reason the rest of the world has shunned their football and embraced ours. Yeah - its tactically much easier to understand, doesn't cost a fortune in kit and is a lot easier to play in hot conditions (because of lack of said kit). Which means more people CAN play it. Obviously i'm a big American Football fan, so I will defend how it's played and deny its boring or tedious in any way. Once you know what you're watching and how the game works, it's actually really exciting to watch.

I fully understand te game, there's no problem there. I would most likely love it if there was any sense of momentum in it. Too slow though, very tedious and over-long.

I can't believe Da Bears made such hard work of beating Carolina last night. Still we're 6-1 now, onwards and upwards!

I never get why people don't like Tom Brady. What exactly do you want from a role model? He's never in the press for drinking antics, gambling, abuse of any NFL policy or any other sort of abuse for that matter. Every interview I've ever seen of him he comes across as a level headed, non arrogant chap who loves playing football and happens to be extremely bloody good at it. Some years ago when his Offensive Co ordinator Charlie Weiss took seriously ill he stayed at his hospital bedside till family could arrive to take over, I don't suppose he's perfect, but who is? And I'm no Patriots fan obviously
