Teams move up and down the table over time though. As a long standing Ferrari fan I remember the pre-Schumacher days when they struggled to score points. Look at where Williams are now compared to a few years back. Things do change. I like what F1 has over other motor sports. I like the TV coverage, I like the big show that's made of it, I love the technology, I like the high speed that comes from all that technology people complain about, I like the feeling it gives you when you're there (ever been to an F1 race and heard the first engine fire up in the pits? or felt that buzz when the lights go out at the start?), I like the fact that the best drivers in the World compete in it and I also love the politics. You just can't get all that in any other sport. I know a lot of people dislike a lot of the above, and I know a lot of people disagree with me, but meh, what do they know?

i hate ferrari, they rigged 99, Irvine had the championship in the bag, but then freak incidents like tyres going missing during a pit stop and Schu not pulling is weight to help Irvine out like irvine had been doing for his whole ferrari career, they wanted shuey to have the glory.

in agreement Nath and if im totally honest im glad schuy has gone i never did like him, he is so arogant and the typical ohh look at me type and some of his driving "tactics" were a disgrace the most recen in monte carlo where he just so happend to stall his car therefore binning the rest of qualy session just glad he was penalised for that one that isnt racing or fair thats just pure cheating IMO.

he is one of the greates drivers ever but i didnt like him, like jon says did resort to dirty tactics to get his own way, and of course the irvine thing seriously effects my opinion of him, jean todt and ross brawn.

I can't say I've ever really been a big fan of Schui either and I've not always agreed with some of the things him and Ferrari have done. I am grateful for what he's done for Ferrari though. There haven't been many really good F1 drivers who were particularly like-able as far as I'm concerned. Prost and Senna both had their dodgy moments on and off the track too. I'm looking forward to seeing what Kimi can do in a Ferrari. Not that I like him much as a person either

I am wondering if Alonso will be any competition in a McLaren. Bad move in my eyes but that was where the money was talking

I am wondering if Alonso will be any competition in a McLaren. Bad move in my eyes but that was where the money was talking That's what many said about Schumacher when he went to Ferrari and look what happened there My guess is Alonso isn't going to win much this year, and maybe not next year either, but give them a couple of years and they could be on a run like Schumacher and Ferrari had. I think a lot of it depends on if Alonso can build a team and car around him the same way Schui managed at Ferrari, and I think he can. I think that's why he went - for the new challenge. As a Ferrari fan I'm hoping Kimi in a Ferrari will be a match for Alonso in a McLaren, but I'm not too hopeful in the long term.

This season is a bit of an unknown. No one is mentioning Renault anymore even though they were world champions the last two years. Must have been something to do with the car at the very least. I'm a McLaren fan and really don't know what to expect. I'm hoping Alonso can do what Hakkinen did in silver and that Kimi can do for Ferrari what he did in silver too, i.e. underacheive! Ferrari probably have the best car and the best start (what with their relationship with Bridgstone) so I'd expect them to set the pace.
