There is just one mate, at the start of the season, the draw was in February. Story hereIf you ever got tickets for that I'd be on the plane faster than you could make the phone call!

I've just listened to Johnny Damon's first at bat as a member of the Yankees at Fenway Park.
I was heartbroken to see Damon sign with the Yanks in the winter but what a classy guy. All you could hear were boos but he doffed his helmet to all corners of the stadium and then took his helmet off and saluted the Red Sox dugout and his old teammates and the boos turned to cheers.
Brilliant gesture from Damon, a great Red Sox, and it takes something special from a special person to turn the bird into cheers in circumstances like that.
Kudos.

I went to bed after the third and a rather handy 3-2 lead but never expected to get up this morning and see we'd laid waste 14-3, I half expected the Yanks to have turned it round, especillay with Randy Johnson pitching but he had a nightmare night. Tone if you haven't got watch the videos of A-Rod and Cabrera's errors, Cabrera's in particular made me wet myself but they probably aren't good viewing for a faint hearted Yankees fan seeing as between them they cost 5 runs. A good night in Red Sox Nation and the big Schill on the mound tonigt. Yankees 0-2 Red Sox. I could get used to this!

Hideki Matsui has left game 3 at Yankee Stadium in the first inning after jamming his wrist into the ground dropping a shallow fly ball. By all accounts listening to the radio it sounds like he may have broken his wrist. Bad news for the Yankees and also for Godzilla who hasn't missed a game in over 1,700 straight professional contests!

Following on from that... It's just shown you a clip of the Mets and Phillies game and Phillies Aaron Rowand has left the game in the top of the first inning with facial lacerations after running into the wall while making a catch! ...Now thats what i call taking one for the team!! *Edit: It's just been said he has broken his nose!*

& you've waited how many days to do that?. I remember you being top for ages last season, but who finished top in the end?. You can stay top till the last game of the season for all I care, it means nothing till the final tally. Back in yer cage...

I'm not concerned Tone, this is a different team, a defensively solid team with clutch hitting and excellent top line hitting...a fair bot of depth too, I think we stand far more chance than last year when we did well to basically hit our way to the play offs. We dropped at the same point as the Yankees last season and had an identical record, even season matey, no one remembers the division winner, who won the NL west last year? It's all about the World Series.

Tony? You seem to have gone AWOL?
The Sox are on a tear...9 game win streak and counting and its taking all the Yanks have got to stay in the race! Credit where its due though, the way the Sox have been playing I'd rather see a 6 or 7 game lead as opposed to 2.5!
The starting pitching has been a mess (Arroyo to the Reds, Wells and Clement injured, Beckett blowing hot and cold) but we are still marching on with a little help from the kids, Lester and Pauley and the waiver pick up Kyle Snyder!
We've go the Mets now...2 hot teams the Yanks lagging in the East and in NYC!
This is fun!

I seem to remember a similar thing happening last season...you were streaks & streaks ahead.....then it all went Pete Tongue. As you always tell me Mr D, there's a bloody long way to go yet. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I've been here all season...fact is there hass been no point this season when I HAVEN'T had something to gloat about! Another job on the Phillies Andy, a sweep at Fenway meaning we finish the season series with the Phillies at a highly impressive 5-1...I'd have expected you to pinch more of us this year than that but I'll take it. I think a lot is to do with the miserable season Bobby Abreu seems to be having...he hasn't even made double figures in homers yet!

This season was pretty much dismissed as a re-builing season in Philly by most fans even before a pitch had been thrown in anger. I was hoping we'd be a little closer to our divisional leaders but I'll just have to be patient. I wouldn't say the Mets have flown just yet but our malaise stems from a poor record against our divisional rivals and has done for a couple of seaosons.
And yes Tony Mr.D does seem pick his moments to put an appearance in. ;D
