But they have started actually feeling the bottom of your bags as well. Anyone know if they can legally do this without a search warrant?

But then as Ted says, they don't have to let you in if you don't agree to a search. Check the terms and conditions on the back of an NIC ticket, it specifically mentions this situation. It's standard policy at almost any venue.

Police cannot do more than a quick pat down and ask you to take off your outer jacket if you refuse to anything more... and turing out your pockets (if I remmber my law classes correctly)
Anything more and they need to take you to the station. I think they can look inside bags as well.
As for the NIC.... im pretty sure they cannot do ANYTHING other than ask to see inside your bag... if you refuse they cant force you to... however... as pointed out the Ts'Cs on the ticket allow them to refuse you entry and there is nothing you can do about it tickets being non refundable and all

They can ask you to open your bag to look inside. They can ask to feel the outside of the bag. They can ask you to take things out of your bag. They CANNOT put their hands inside your bag. They Cannot touch anything you take out of your bag without permission.
The have the right to refuse admission if you do not allow your bag to be searched when asked.

one thing in defence of the catering, i'm so happy they finally have "rollover" hot dogs rather than those shambolic ones last season, so there has been 1 small improvement in my opinion.

My mate had a 'rollover' hot dog recently. His only comment was "Rollover, more like ruddy Keelover"

This rumour is a complete fabrication. Nothing has improved. If anything it has gone downhill. Less choice, dirty counters/trays. Mugs instead of cups & saucers and the staff seem not to care about cleaning tables and sweeping spilt food from the floors. When we were in there the other day there was not one clean table, the tray we were given to use was dirty and food deposits were all over the floor whilst the staff stood talking.

Most of them are Agency staff who, short of crapping on your pizza, will get paid whatever they do/don't do.
