Have I missed something? Thought the plan was to look at which European teams weren't gonna make the playoffs then offer 1 of their top scorers a position here - thus them extending their season and getting another chance to get some silverware this season? No way would Dan Ceman fit into that scenario! We should be able to pick up a seriously good player if it's us or the golf course surely??! Even if we can't afford what they normally command in wages, if they love to play, they would still want to come over and give it a try? Am sure we will get a better player than Ceman - though maybe Ellie is asking him about some other players?

If Dan Ceman comes in then trust id be first there slamming a piece of 4x2 around me head whilst thinking why oh why. ME is thinking much higher then Dan Ceman trust me he wants a centre man from the DEL but its just enticing him over here and yes his team are falling short of the play-offs.
ME knows if he gets this wrong then losing play-offs would be the last thing he ever did with the Panthers

Hmm - Brandin Cote's doing well this season!! PLG 42 - G 19 - A 21 - PTS 40 - PIMS 72 i would hope he would be looking at players averaging more than a point per game in there leagues

Why do people post such mischievous rubbish? There's about as much chance as the new forward being Sidney Crosby - or me for that matter.

My guess, for what it's worth, is Trevor Gallant , currently with EHC Straubing (who won't make the DEL Play-Offs), and formerly with the Manchester Storm in the Superleague days (2000-2). As far as I recall, this guy was a hell of a Centre, winning face-offs at will, and prepared to get his nose dirty! Am I right? Only time will tell!

Brendan Yarema formerly of London Knights apparently wants to come back to Britain. The guy would cost a small fortune and would maybe explain you releasing two players. He is currently at Lagnau Tigers, the same team as Jinman.....

Hes gone to a swedish club, another quality player back in the ISL days, it appears theres an abundance of talent in Europe who appear `unhappy` P.s. Keep upto date, Jinners left SL Tigers ages ago to return to Sierre

Good player (nickname - 'Tank') who finished the 2000/01 season 7th in league scoring with 22+27=49 points, two points ahead of the much maligned..........Mr Ceman, and the 2001/02 season 11th in league scoring with 9+34=43 points, two points behind the much maligned..........Mr Ceman.

The only time I remember Dan Ceman 'scoring' last season was him having a goal disallowed in the game we don't talk about.

Ceman also finished 5th. in league scoring in 2002/03 whilst playing for a Bracknell team that won only five games all season. Also, the Ice Hockey Annual for 2001/02 says of Joe Cardarelli that he '....formed a deadly partnership with Dan Ceman.'
I'm not making a case for signing Ceman, but I do think he has had a rough trot given that he landed up here last season in a team in a state of complete inertia, coached by a coach who had given up the day Tessier left.

FWIW, I'm with Stef. We did not see anything like the player he can be last year.
Point is, we don't make the decisions. Ellis does. He's better at them than we are, that's why he's a coach and we're fans. He's proved in spades this week that he isn't afraid to take unpopular decisions. I think he knows what we need, and the calibre we need, that's why 2 players have gone to fund him. I'm on tenterhooks.

Yeah his stats look good.
Plus Rod Stevens would probably know him from his time in Germany.

He played with Carderelli while the two were at Storm, not sure if they played on the same line or anything though.

OK. Let's have a bit of a trawl round the armpit end of the DEL for decent centres, who won't be in the playoffs...
Straubing Trevor Gallant Marc Chouinard
Augsburg Craig Darby Yannick Dube Travis Brigley (yes please, but he's a winger)
Duisburg Matt Dzieduszycki (Stef may have other ideas...)
Iserlohn Brad Purdie Jerely Addunono (Winger again, but ace last time DEL were in town, and he's played at Nottm before...) Richard Rochefort
Might I suggest any of them would be an adequate replacement for Simoes/Moran.
