There is a rumour that Maltby is retiring so that could be one of the announcements.

I think the idea was to send him to Bracknell till the end of the season so we can bring in an import with higher wages and then get Paul back next season, but I heard he then started training with Sheffield with out telling anyone so we let him go and he signed with them.
Good luck to him.

Which Moran you didn't specify? Sheffeild currently have the required amount of imports. Although it would surprise to see Darby or Maltby cut from their roster. would prbally work out better if they cut Darby as they have 5 D-men in Thomas, Morenzo (sp), Ricci, Darby and Shane Johnson whos been playing on the wing. Knowing the Steelers it maybe another sponsership announcment, you never their always billed to be big annoucments. Doubt Steve Simoes would join them, I think his a man who would stick by his word "Its Nottingham or nothing".

the first chance moran gets to smash ellis into the boards he will! Moran would come off worst in that one.

This one again?
By my reckoning, we have this "Paul Moran to Sheffield" rumour on average about 3 times per season...
Are people keeping on with this one on the "even a stopped clock is right twice a day" basis? Or are we looking at an infinite number of monkeys and the script for Hamlet?
;D

I really like Paul but cant say i'd be bothered if he went, even to Sheffield. He hasnt been either a fighter or a decent player this season. Would much rather see Cooke given more ice time to get him back on form as he was last season.
Ferrera looks better each time he plays too.

Johnson has been playing D with Sarich and Darby has been on the 3rd line wing, and what a decision that was, he's been immense since he was moved there. As for Simoes, I don't believe a word of this 'I'll only play for team X' business. At the end of the day there is no loyalty in this sport, especially for the North Americans.

Would your lot not have announced that he had been released/left if he had? Can't see them wanting anyone else letting you lot know that a player was no longer with you if they could help it!

i don't think moran knows much about it if it is true, on monday he didn't have a clue simoes had left until he read the evening post.

I think it may well be true on this occasion. The delay in announcement is probably to give GM the GM time to practise his spin, spin, spin.
Smack 1 - How could Ellis chop the best GB International in the Elite league? Smack 2 - How could my son go and play for the enemy after how I have brought him up? Smack 3 - Why wasn't the decision mine, I thought I was in charge!?
Thursday could be a very interesting day.
That apart, Paul has done a job for us for several years but has not shown improvement for 12 months. He has been a liability for much of this season & I would guess he has taken more stupid penalties per ice time than any player on our team. I would like to see Cooke & Ferrara given more time as I think they have a chance of developing.
