maybe one for the Rumours section? I wudnt be disappointed, id take him back as an average 2nd line centre on agerage wage but wudnt pay more than that for him

Never saw why everyone said he was rubbish. Wasnt awful by a long short. Agreed I dont think that he was brought in as Tessier's replacement helped. A good player but never the star that Tess was Think we expected to much Not to fussed about him moving on EliteLeague.co.uk Story

I'd take that press release with a pinch of salt. If all the PR's were true this year, we'd have a team of about 27 imports. Personally I wouldn't like him. We need goal scorers, something that Dan Ceman is not.

I thought he did a job for us, but people (naturally) thought he was going to be a straight swap for Tess

I'd take that press release with a pinch of salt. Agreed. I doubt the vipers would sign someone like Ceman for a first line centre. No offence to him but i think that's a bit ambitious for Dan.

Good luck to Dan wherever he goes, as long s he doesn`t come back here. No offence, but didn`t rate him much last season, whereas a few seasons ago( when i think he played for Bracknell) i remember him as being a better player.

last year blaiser was basically lazy and signing ceman when dan went was a much easier option that getting in a "real" replacement of the same calibre and to be honest ceman came up short on more than one occasion...
wouldnt want him back and would be pleasantly surpised if he signed for newcastle...

Haha sorry but thats so far wide of the mark its unreal. Blaiser rated Ceman as a 2nd line centre but didnt bring him in as a permanent replacement for Tessier

you know this how rich? both his opinion of ceman and his temporary status as it is has not been stated in the press anywhere...
think you will find most panthers' fans thought ceman was a total waste of time during his tenure in a panthers shirt...

Because when a player doesnt put in a 100% and doenst seem that bothered about playing then you kinda think he is rubbish. O.k people compare him to Tessier as he came in but I think he wasnt at the same standard when he played briefly for Steelers and Bracknell. I am glad he is'nt returning

What disappointed me wasn't his skill level, it was the apparent lack of effort.

I wudnt beleive it if it was written in the press anyway, I can assure you tho Ceman was not always supposed to be Tessiers replacement. I know they do, everyone has opinions. I dont think Ceman can be compared to Tess to be honest but it was always going to be tough for him

ceman was soooooo bad though rich that he became a running joke amongst the fans around our season tickets and he has to be bad to take the pee out of your own players...
It wasnt he was a replacement for tess he was not even an adequate import or even half decent brit replacement.

Fair enough but thats a different matter to MWB being lazy and not trying to replace Tess FWIW im sure lots of people would do lots of things very differently if they could go back in time, even GM and NB!

but what is lazy though rich is NOT replacing the obviously underachieving players that we had last season. Most fans would agree that for example both ceman and sebastian were very poor for pretty much the whole time they were with us, yet both were safe and secure in the knowledge that either would not be replaced and in my mind that is lazy on the part of the coach and GM....

Very true, I agree 100%, I used to think VERY highly of Sebby, I just wish he hadnt come back and cracked my image of him. The threads about Ceman tho.. *edit-typo*

On the odd occasion he looked like he cared he wasn't too bad but the rest of the time he floated around like he was enjoying a casual skate. His point return wasn't that good either was it?

Not for us because it was a bad season all round and he had big boots to fill, depends who you compared him to, he did a decent job for the Danes in france
