Right then enough is enough.
BJ, time to set up a sperate board for those who wish to post about Dave Simms. That way those who are not interested in what DS has or hasn't done can easily ignore the subject - that will be most folk on the forum including the mods who have to wade through it all, time and time again!
Just about everyone I've spoken to is heartily sick and tired of the endless round of accusation and counter accusation on the subject. Personal grudges seem to be being exploited via the medium of this forum.
There are many people who read the forum but don't post on it so their views don't get heard. They are getting put off by these tirades which is not good.
So come on people give it a rest for goodness sake.

Thank god for that, now all you need to do is create a seperate board relating to Sheffield Star articles and I'll be able to come here and do what I used to enjoy doing....have some civilised chat about the Panthers/EIHL ;D

As a Panthers fan for many years, and as someone who reads nearly everything on here but rarely posts, I have to support this thread. Time and time again I have read intelligent threads on here that eventually, via some tenuous connection, sink into an anti (and often unpleasant) Steelers tirade.
This is supposed to be a friendly sport with tolerant fans, but anyone reading this forum and judging it as a cross section of ice hockey fans would be forgiven for thinking otherwise.
Can we please stop this obsession with one other club ?
(waits for reply saying "they are even worse" !)

Is it really a problem ? I personally take an interest in the odd Sheffield Stir article and Simms spouting. This is a Panthers forum at the end of the day and Sheffield will always be our fiercest rivals. No one has to click on a link with Dave Simms in the title if they don't want to and the Mods would still have to wade through the Simms board to moderate it anyway. If people are using the issue to get personal with each other, then that's what needs addressing not the subject matter, isn't it ? I count a number of Steelers as friends, but that doesn't stop me enjoying a good whinge with fellow Panthers fans about them lot up the road now and again. You'll be asking us to quit moaning about Carson and Boniface next ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I am interested in reading news re other teams (incl Sheffield) but people just goin on about Simms said this etc is not only seriously annoying - but it's giving that muppet publicity - surely the best thing to do is ignore him?! Hopefully now we can. Thanks Steve. Go MP, Go MP, Go MP! ;D ;D ;D

I don't have a problem when the thread is marked with "DS" or "Sheffield stir" then you can make your choice. It's when a thread is called something like "How many are going to Belfast" and one and a half page in it's turned into a Sheffield/DS bashing. Then it becomes tiresome

Nice one Shorty, and I'd back it instantly ... it is mostly encapsulated already in the Forum rules about not using text speak, but I agree that plain English goes beyond that. How about a rule amendment to ask people to use "plain English" in a post? *edited to correct a typing error* *edited a second time at popular demand to give "english" a capital "E"

Lynne, pease amend "english" to have a capital E as well! Barry and John say hello. Many apologies - I'm obviously not far enough through "Eats, Shoots and Leaves" yet! English now has a capital "E". Hi to Barry and John - will see you on Sunday if you are there as we are in town! Block 5, row M - so if anyone else wants to introduce themselves too, come and say "hi!".
