One name stands out here – Graham Waghorn.
Originally from Streatham, he came here via Solihull and was an absolute rock at the back for many years. His dad Jack was a top bloke as well.
The other big one is Frank Killen. Glaswegian goalie who we signed from Durham in a move that shook British hockey at the time. Killen was the best goalie in the country and a key part of the very powerful Wasps team. However when he came to play in a match here, he liked the atmosphere so much he came to play for us. I can still remember the banner headline on the back page of the Post and almost dropping the paper when I read it.

Frankie is also remembered fondly in our house for his unusual habit of skating well out of his net to dive, full length, on any loose pucks in the defensive zone. The dive, would of course, regularly take him beyond the blue line. Comical.

I would have killed to have had a Waghorn#20 Panthers jersey. Graham was an absolute top knotch player IMO
