19 has a bit of a checkered history.
It got off to a good start with Paul O’Higgins, known as ‘Mex’ because of his bandit’s moustache. Mex was always good for goals and for a good laugh after the game as well.
The late 1980s were a real roller coaster. The number was worn by the explosive Fred Perlini, arguably the best Canadian to play in this country since we reformed. After he left, the number passed between three further imports who didn’t really make it, the last one, Bruce Thompson having the distinction of being released to bring in one P Adey.
Steve Carpenter’s hard checking style won him lots of fans here. Most recent incumbents were ace playmaker Mikko and the wonderful KK.

Last season was my first season as a hockey fan and KK was my fave player. Gutted to see him go really. Does anyone know where he is this season? I think I heard that he was playing over in the UHL for the Motor City Mechanics

"Smacker" (IIRC) was a super smooth skater had one of the best wrist shots I've seen. I was gutted when Fife Flyers outbid us for his services the following year. He averaged almost five points a game for us. At the time I believe I saw somewhere that part of the package offered by Fife included free fruit and veg from a local greengrocer. How times change, nowadays they get shares
