Yeah i have one . Can you remember the night Rowe had a little dis- agreement with odeiline(i know the spelling is wrong) well me and my mates were in the bar just after the game near the dressing rooms , we had a few and were coming out to go over to the Castle for a few more . All the stickes from Whitley were outside their dressing room so i decided to "borrow " Rowes alluminium sticks (all 3 of them ) . I went over to the Castle and had a few more , with my new sticks in my hand . At around 11.30 i staggered out only to be confronted by about 20 Whitely bays fans , they said that some sod had nicked Mikes hockey sticks and those in my hand look like the very ones , i said that some one had try'd to sell them to me and i knew who's they were and i was returning them . I gave them to the nearest W/B fan and ran and ran and ran. I have never been so scared in all my life . If anybody has been to W/B they know what i mean !!

Not got time now for all the old rink stories, so I'll just share this little gem with you. A classic comment that makes me laugh whenever I think of it.
You know how the floor in the old stadium tended to get rather sticky?
I was heading for the bar after a Steelers game when one of the Sheffield fans nudged me, looked down at his feet, which were stuck to the matting, and said "No wonder you lot get a big crowd every week, nobody can get their feet unstuck and go home".

since i was about 3 i've said 1) i want to work at the old ice rink 2) i wanted to get married there(lol sad i know ;D) 3)i wanted to be buried there then it got closed/ knocked down
so then i changed it to 1) i wanted to work at the crix, collecting glasses etc 2)have my wedding reception at the crix
then that got closed/ knocked down
i've now decided to not get attached to buildings any more, they keep getting torn down Move to Sheffield? ;D

The old LPS was great, and the atmosphere is unlikely to be fealt at the new place, but you have to move with the times, and break with the past. I'm sure the team will generate new memories for the NIC

The old LPS was great, and the atmosphere is unlikely to be fealt at the new place, but you have to move with the times, and break with the past. I'm sure the team will generate new memories for the NIC I can picture it now ... April 2046 ... Location: Planet Ice ... not as you know it now but an actual planet completely covered in ice where most ice related sports take place ... 40,000 billion light years from Earth but thanks to teleporters it only takes 4.8 msecs to travel there. A wrinkly old man sits next to a brain in a glass bottle connected to what looks like a lap top computer in an ice stadium, block shhef, row quarg .... The old man speaks ... "Remember the old days BJ?" The brain replies ... "Oh yes Shin me old mucka ... remember that NIC?!" "Hey Beej, you're not wrong .. now there was a place ... and hockey was so much better then when it was only two dimensional ..." "Hell yeah ... and the way the bluecoats would look after us ... much better than the ex military cyborg battle-bots they have here at the new place ... at least they didn't terminate you for smuggling lemonade into the rink. And the beer was only 2.40 a pint ... sheesh! Those were the days ... you're lucky to get a pint of synthetic non-alcoholic brown beverage for less than 420 dollarpounds these days!" "Yeah, but Beej ... the best thing was the atmosphere ... can you remember ... ooh cripes, must have been 2004? The year we won the Challenge Cup and the Play Offs after a trophy drought of about five years or so...? The old place was packed ... the atmosphere electric!" "Shin, the whole planet's atmosphere turned electric not long after that ... that's why we all had to leave!" "You know what I mean smart ass!"

LOL! Careful BJ! At that rate you'll be reminiscing about the quality decisions of Andy Carson, the athletic ability of Simon Kirkham and the wit, intelect, and insightful wisdom of a certain Mr David Simms!

I think two incidents at the old rink that stand out for me both involve dave simms..the first one was when Mr Simms decided to do his live radio broadcast of the game sat in block 11..yep in front of the infamous block 11ers!!! we couldn't resist shouting "Simmsy you silly person" everytime it was quiet..and from the shaking of Jamie Vanderhorsts shoulders, i think he found it amusing! the second one was when simmsy was slapped by an elderly woman in block 3 and had to be escorted out of the rink, past block 11 with the chants of "loser" ringing in his ears!! my mum later told me that when the steeler players found out they all cheered!!!
Also can anyone remember that big ginger deaf guy who played for Oxford or Cambridge? when someone boarded him and the exit doors opened and he went flying down the stairs!!!

I can remeber one night, a group of 5 or 6 opposition players casually skating off the ice after the end of the game and awards. Among the was Ed Courtenay. The old place had gone half empty already and it was relatively quiet. Somebody from block 4 shouts "OI, Big Nose!!!!"....... and of course Courtenay is the only player to look around!!! I nearly wet myself laughing.
