I have some comments on the game sent to me by one Mr. Daniel Newham, sat enjoying a pint in an Edinburgh public house... "It wasn't a bad game, we still look a bit dodgy, and Edinburgh's weren't that bad. Craighead slashed someone in the back. There were about 200 Panthers fans, it was very cold, and the Scots are the nicest people in the world!" Very insightful, I'm sure you'll agree thanks Daniel!

Well, I (being a Fifer) sat with the Panthers fans tonight, who were great once again. You guys looked better than last night, but then again, Edinburgh let you play like that, and we didn't. ;D Craighead was good tonight, and Ahlroos was awesome all weekend (3 goals and 2/3 assists over the weekend, I think). Hope you all enjoyed the trip, and we can't wait to have you back!

I was at the game tonight and despite the scoreline not being in favour of my team, the game kicked ass!!! ;D I loved it, great entertainment tonight. The atmosphere in the old rink was amazing!. The Panthers have some excellent players and we did let them play quite a bit tonight. We never play physical hockey but the Caps did take the game to the Panthers and I believe we surprised your lot. Dave Clarke always ALWAYS scores against us!!!

Aye, it wasnt bad but it should have been more comfortable than it was. We scored 7 but hit the post 3 times, missed a few one on ones and wasted some glorious chances. Everyone, and i mean EVERYONE played better last night than on Saturday (not a difficult feat i hear you say) but they looked like Adey had given them what-for at the end of saturday nights game. Craighead had a stormer, Clarke and Ahlroos were great, Calle was classy and Ricci, Moran and Krulis (Sir Slipsalot from now on) all looked a mile better than the previous night. Best bit of the night was our reaction to the Capitals fans constant booing of our players every time Craighead (because he blatantly slashed someone in the back, poor show Jonny) or Myers (a sly punch after being hooked) touched it. From that moment on, every time a Panther touched it we cheered madly, every time a Capital touched it, we booed ironically. Fortunately the Edinburgh fans saw the funny side of it and it took our mind off the game (balanced precariously at 5-4 at that time) for a little while....It was a good last minute too! Kalmikov made the game safe with a one on one and with the Edinburgh goalie pulled, Clarke was through to score into the empty net when he was pulled down. Penalty shot makes it 7-4. The scoreline didnt really flatter us and we could have had more, we are so much better than both of the opposition we played this weekend on paper and finally we showed it where it counts, on the ice. PS. I love the antique chairs in the Edinburgh arena, very quaint! Also, i'd never had Stobies before, but theyre great too!

i saw you you sat in front of me Aye, that was probably me. I moved around a bit, but I had last years Fife away jersey on, #6 Fletcher (game worn, no less ;D). There were a few Fifers there, but a good few of them had Panthers jerseys on!

I agree last night was a huge improvement but it was still worrying to see the D go AWOL on each of their goals. However the offense really clicked, particularly in the second, & we could (should) have bagged a few more. I don't think i've seen a puck hit so hard when Clarkey one timed his first goal & JC was in the thick of the action all night. Kimmy's off & running now & i wouldn't be surprised if he goes on a long scoring streak.

Great weekend! Really enjoyed it. Lots a Panther fans having a good time. Fife game was a bit disappointing..but I suppose we cant win every game. Be nice if we could..but have to expect it from time to time! But at least it was only Fife and not Steelers!! The caps game was a big improvment. Great goals..from Kimmy and the guys!! That was funny when ever one of the Caps had the puck we boo'd them and when we had it we cheered!! ;D Great weekend

Yep, definitely a great weekend. Got home at 4pm this afternoon (Monday) after a leisurely drive (hopefully I wasn't still over the limit from the excesses of the previous 2 days !).
As P_P said, if we're going to lose, we're better off losing to Fife than any of the EIHL Teams.
Anyway, seeing as how this is the Capitals thread, just to say that it was a very different game to the previous evenings. Even at 2 - 0 I was fairly confident that we wouldn't end up losing, but I was very relieved when we got to 2 - 5 (then slightly worried at 4 - 5 !). I'd never been to Murrayfield before.....it wasn't as cold as I'd been led to believe. It's a shame that the Caps are not very well supported (although the few that were there were noisy !).

Just stepped in after a great weekend. (Called at the zoo this afternoon)
Saturday was a huge dissapoinment, they didn't even look like they had turned up.
Last night was better, all the team had a better game!!
Jan's tripping incident left us all in stiches!!! Hillrious and even better when he could hardly climb over the bench for laughing!!
We managed to make lot's of mess over the bench at the end of Sundays game - heh-he, confetti cannons, don't you just love em!!!
Really had a good enjoyable weekend!!!
Finally a big appology to those using IH-Update. I'm not accent-ist but we were struggling to hear exactly what the announcer said re; assists but I did my best!! And sorry there were no shots on goal recorded, we didn't seem to get any?? Announcments that is, not shots ;D

Ta nutty for the confetti and stuff - boy did we make a mess ;D
I really enjoyed the weekend - we won't/can't win them all, and I just knew that after the defeat at Fife it wouldn't happen again next day.
Great bunch of travelling fans.
Did you notice the video camera just by us? Wonder if he could send us a clip of Krulis - so funny!
