you lose by 1, you lose by 2, you lose by 10, its still losing whatever the margin isn't it. tbh i wasn't sure about this game, i remember last season i think it was, we were on good form and getting wins, we then had a break of about a week or 2, then came back and played very poor for a few games. i just hope it isn't a kind of repeat The team are gonna have their ups and downs, no matter how much we need / want to be at the top all the time, you have to expect dips from time to time, but they always recover and get back to their previous form!

how long does it take to drive up to fife dunno! Ask someone who's still on the supporters coach on the way back down. Personally, i think a 30 minute flight will always beat a 7 hour coach journey! As for Saturdays game, the less said the better! We were poor to be frank (as the scoreline suggests). Apparently we'd been off to Majorca for a bit in the time off and it looked like some of them were still there. It was very strange to see a rink without any plexi, that took me back to the days of LPS the first when we had a small ice and no plexi-glass, it makes it very difficult for away sides to win. The away sides come down from playing with big surfaces and plenty of room with plenty of checking potential to these miniature pads with the chances of broken hips if checked into the boards. I really do believe that if there were plexi, Fife wouldn't have scored their third because Ricci (i think) would have checked their RW hard and he wouldnt have passed it in front. Thats my opinion and im sticking by it anyway.... For us, Curtis, Caddy and Ricci all had a bit of a mare, the latter two suffering from more than their fair share of bad luck. CC looked lethargic all weekend but i guess he's earned the right to have one...For Fife, their goalie is simply awesome! I think his name is Richard Hay and on both occasions i've watched him this year he has been unbeatable. We battered Fife for the entire second period (but still lost it) but nothing would get past him. Git.............. ;D Whilst speaking about the Flyers, i was slightly disappointed with the conduct of their fans, i never encourage booing the opposition players off of the ice and whilst JC's despicable slash in the back wasn't nice, shouting some bloomin loud expletives in earshot of 9 year old children isnt something i would condone either. On the other side, we met and talked with some utterly fantastic and friendly Fife fans who made us feel very welcome. I'd never realised that the Scottish were so talkative. We went to a bar called Cheers on Saturday afternoon and i was stuck at the bar talking to a girl called Clara for an hour and a half! Naturally, i wanted to go back and play pool but for some reason (might have been that she was gorgeous) i just couldnt pull myself away. God bless her! Anyway, it was a poor game and the unbeaten run is over but who cares? We're allowed to lose the odd game from now on in and it's not like we lost to any of our rivals is it? Oh yeh, Scotland is freezing. Note to self, bring more than one jumper next time....

Newham - glad you enjoyed yourself! Re: Our goalie - he's Scott Hay, and he had a bit of a slow start to the season. He had big skates to fill (Steve Briere, our goalie last year, was regarded as a god in Kirkcaldy ;D), and a few fans were getting on his back, but lately he's been totally stonewalling everybody! Apologies if a few idiotic fans let us down, but I'm sure you'll realise that the majority of us are decent folk. I spoke to quite a few Panthers fans over the weekend (I was in Edinburgh last night as well), and they were some of the friendliest away fans I've ever met. I got the train from Kirkcaldy to Edinburgh (where I'm at Uni) on Saturday night with a bunch of Panthers fans, and spent the whole time talking hockey. All good fun! Can't wait to have you lot back up here!

how long does it take to drive up to fife By car it takes 5- 6 hours if you go up the A1/A68. Obviously depends on various things like food breaks, weather and whether or not you get stuck behind a tractor on the A68! Would probably be slightly quicker to go the 'long' way around up the M6/M74 actually. Guess that's what the players did but they always stop for long breaks stretch their legs and eat properly. To be honest I think the coach legs excuse is a bit thin. The guys that have played in the US will have been used to much longer trips than that and most of our guys will eb used to Scottish trips from the BNL games they've played. Personally I thought part of the problem was the fact that they'd had a break from a training. Every year the team says that a break will do them good and every year they lose the first game after a break. It's so predictable, I groaned as soon as I heard Adey announcing it last Friday. twix

I got back in 4 & half hours last night using the M74/M6 route (took 5 & half on the way up though - why is it always quicker coming home!?).
As for the Fife game there was very little forecheck all night & i lost count of the number of odd man rushes they had. CC never looked like saving anything all weekend but he was overdue a couple of off nights. He had very little protection from the D & might as well have had a white flag to wave on the numerous occasions they went missing.
Plus points were few but obviously Kimmys goal was a highlight & i thought Big Mac & JC were the pick of the rest.

Och aye the noo etc etc ... Greetings from your roving Admin in Edinburgh's easyinternet cafe ... I loved the rink, with its old time hockey feel. Some of the fans let you down though Cunndies .... a bunch of guys sat down right of us Panthers lot thinking it funny to throw all manner of abuse at JC .... and booing us off the ice?? Come on .... no-one likes a bad winner Have to agree there! Fife fan next to us swearing through much of the game - 'f' word mostly. Did apologise afterwards and said he was just hyped up 'cos his team were winning, but it's not acceptable, especially with kids in front of him.

Great Weekend. 5 hours 20 with stops by car Have to agree with Newman about the plexi, it seemed to take us out of our hitting, But fife have built a team that is made for that rink and they deserved the 2 points.. Personally I thought that the Murryfield rink and game (not just result)was better, but hey that's just my choice As most have said, I thought CC had a couple of off nights but he's allowed. However Caddy was poor again. He should take a look at Fife's number 11, Now there's a fast skillfull player who creates. (I know a lot love him (and so do I) but he's not the same player without a number 72 along side.. Time to go and hide me thinks ) Good to see Kimmy get on the goal sheet, he needed it. Overall a good but cold trip ;D

I actually told him to stop swearing!! Never done that before! ;D Didn't take much notice of me and he said to his friend 'I can swear if I want!' Thought that was bit rude but he did say sorry at the end, and I think he'd had a bit too much to drink too! Overall, I thought it was a good weekend! We had to lose sometime and I'd rather lose to Fife than Sheffield IMHO! I didn't think Caddy was that bad but CC didn't have a very good weekend - but we'll let him off ;D Loved game against Edinburgh especially with all the confetti! Although I was very itching at the end after some people had put it all over me and it ended up down my back! Now who could that have been MrsJoel, nuttyrockeress?? I enjoyed the whole weekend even tho we didnt win both games and I would like to say thank you again to nuttyrockeress for taking me there! ;D ;D

did anyone see that Curtis didn't have his red bottle against Fife, maybe that could have affected his game, just a thought coz i think he's quite superstitious He always goes round his net anti-clockwise! I think it was the Edinburgh game where he went right round the net just so he went round anti-clockwise! ;D
