Flicking around nhl.com I found this bit where game worn jerseys are for sale. (Mods - you may wish to tidy this up) CLICKYI might be missing something, but I can't see anywhere where it says auction. Only a price. And on the Bruins' page there are 8 game worn Nick Boynton jerseys going back to 2002/03. They are all priced at $595, which given his two shirts from his time here went for £800+ seems comparatively cheap (at current exchange rates the NHL shirts work out to be about £325 each, although when Customs sting you for duty and VAT it will be more). Am I missing something? Link tidied,Stef. A.G

Just looked at the Rangers page. There are 3 Messier jerseys, a snip at $12,500 each.

As you rightly say though they tend to be subject to import duty as far as I'm aware.

I enquired about duty etc with HM Customs a couple of years ago, and this guy emailed back and said there is 12.2% duty on the shirt, then 17.5% VAT on the cost of the shirt AND the duty they've just added on! In addition the carrier this side of the Atlantic will probably charge a commercial clearance fee.
It'd almost be cheaper to fly over and fetch the bloomin' thing in person.

Just watch out for the difference between a game issued jersey and a game worn jersey Meigray clearly state whether it was game issued or game worn to be fair Shea. It is sure;y the responsibility of the buyer to be fully aware of what they are purchasing. Also they usually come with a certificate of authenticity (coa).

Just watch out for the difference between a game issued jersey and a game worn jersey Good grief. What's the difference? It's all getting complicated now. Good job I'm not going to buy one.

Game issued means its been issued to the player for the game but not actually worn in a game so basically has not be worn at all. Pretty sure thats right.

if buying, ask whoever it is to send it as either a warrantee return or a gift.
No import duties this side.
I used to order rollerskates that way

Ted's right - I've had stuff sent from over the pond - if it's marked as a gift - no extra customs charges

I've bought a GI Leafs jersey, in fact it's waiting at the Parcel force depot now, and although it's no GW it's still a fully pro jersey that's brand new! You'll pay much more for a fully customised pro jersey than a fully customised replica, which are just flimsy and not nice.

I've long had a hankering for a pro-Blackhawks jersey. Maybe even a game-worn or game-issued if there is a reasonably priced one. Unfortunately the Hawks are not in the Meigray set-up. As far as I know you can only get their game-worns from their shop in Chicago. I was lucky enough to visit a few years ago and they had half a dozen on display. Beautiful shirts, extremely well made as you suggest, Shin. Different again from replicas, but with a price to match.
Oh well. Retirement lump sum, perhaps.
