No (not that i know of). 2. Only if your 18+ 3. Pretty sure basic protection is helmet, leg pads, gloves, elbow pads and shorts. 4. yes

Lots of teams in Sheffield for sure and good facilities as well, unlike Nottingham. You could try the diamond backs at www.sheffielddiamondbacks.co.uk/ for a start. Or contact queens road and they could put you in contact with some teams.

Queens road is just a rink not a team.
Diamondbacks have always been well run. Unlike some teams they havnt won any championships or had any grants but they have some very passionate players who do a lot for the team. I seriously recommend them if you can get to rotheram

The above stuff is rather garbled. Just to clarify : There are various governing bodies for inline hockey in this country : Bisha - British Inline Skater Hockey Association Bipha - British Inline Puck Hockey Association GBHI - Great Britain Hockey Inline etc Bisha play with a ball but everyone else plays with a puck, and they have varying rules on the amount of contact allowed. GBHI have leagues in the South, Midlands and the North. The Midlands leagues have been forced to play out of the Queens Road roller rink at Sheffield (not far from the railway station) because the rink at Derby closed down. GBHI Midlands has leagues from 10 & Under through to Senior. There is no upper age limit for Seniors, so at the tender age of 22 you will be fine! At 22 you don't have to wear a cage but you might consider a visor. Other than that, shoulder pads are optional but you need to wear all the other kit - elbow pads, box, girdle or ice hockey shorts, leg guards. GBHI is non-checking which is not the same as non-contact! The Senior League was split into 2 divisions last season as there were a lot of teams - of varying calibre. The GBHI season starts round about the beginning of September and finishes June/July depending on whether you qualify for the National Championships. If you want to know further, you can contact me via www.rollersnakes.comCheers!
