Hiya, Thought I'd post on here as most "players" in Nottingham read this. If anyone is interested in doing their Level 1 coaching course, can they let me know. I have spoken to Jill Easson (who organises them), and all the places are full. However, I've been trying to get enough people interested so that she can put another course on for some of the uni people. Hence I have opened this up to the Panthers fans. I have posted quite a few details on the Uni hockey forum at www.buiha.org.uk/forum and go to Development Please let me know ASAP if you are interested. I'm going to send the final list off to her next Friday, the 30th June. Cheers, Rachel

Luke, it depends on when you did your Level 1:
Quoted from the Coaching Program Website "Level 1 who has not been registered for 3 seasons or more must re-take, and pass, the written exam and then attend a workshop by the end of August of following year, unless they obtained their Level 1 prior to 1999, then they must re-take course and pass written exam and then attend workshop every three years, or progress to Level 2.
"Level 1 who has not attended workshop can re-take, and pass, Level 1 exam - but once only and has to attend workshop before end of August of following year. If they fail again to attend workshop they must re-sit Level 1 course and pass written exam. Dispensations will only be granted in exceptional circumstances and will be until end of following August only.
"Courses which will count as a workshop are: attending, but not completing, Level Two, certain NCF workshops, IIHF seminars, seminars run by the national association of a top 6 nation. With the exception of the Level Two course, all cases will be taken on merit and evidence of attendance will be required. Manager, off-ice and referee courses do not count."
If you need to get on a Level 1, or topic workshop , then let me know, I'm your gal. Email me. Hope this helps!!

Right, dont really get that, im very confused!
Basically, i passed my level one in around 2002. I was due to take a refresher course last year but got special dispensation due to no courses been held locally! I have registered every year as a coach since i passed.
Does this help you? hope you understand it!

Yep, I got your email addy so I'll email you later. Refresher courses dont exist, they are either Level 1/2 or topic workshops. I'm not sure about the status of the workshops, there were 3 so far:
22 july milton keynes - game day management 23 july bracknell - advance from juniors to senior games and training 19 august solihull - womens development, drills etc
I believe you only need to do one of these and you are fine. Let me know which course you want to go on.
You'll have to do it asap, cos i dont know how full they are. Im doing game day management, I hear its full, but dont quote me. I can ask, but I usually update the buiha forum for anything like that.
