Hi guys.
Being as we all want to play matches, why njot make it more interesting by playing for something and making a round robin tournament, a bit like the Rugby Tri Nations but a bit longer.
I was thinking that there is three teams, Nottingham, Chilwell and Calverton so why not play each other 4 times and then the top two teams in the league play each other twice for aggregate score in the final??
That means that every team is guaranteed 8 games of competetive hockey against another team, possibly 10 and would help see out the off season where there is no hockey on??
Let me know what you think and I'll try and see if Craig and Chris from Chilwell can arrange it and work out a scoring system etc and then find dates to play.
Just post some feedback on here,
Andy

sure i like that idea but duffy and kilner will have to play for calverton because they can't play for 2 teams

They can choose who they play for but yes you'll only be able to play for one team.
What I'd like to see is a full team roster and thats your team. If you ain't on it you ain't playing!! Simple as!! It could stop tactical playing etc and ensure that if its a big game they're not getting better players in for it as a one off. It might be plausable but I'd have to check it with Chris from Chilwell.

I think this is a really good idea and a great opportunity for all the teams to gain some experience. Another idea could be to book a hall for a few hours and everyone plays each other once then the top 2 have a final at the end.

maybe we should have an agreement at the start where all the teams register up to say 2 netminders and 16 skaters that will be available or something like that so no one can bring in anyone at the last minute etc?

Better make it more around the 20 skaters mark because there is bound to be some people who cannot make it one week for some reason or antoehr etc and so if you only have 16 and a few drop out for a game your left seriously short benched. Plus its unfair on the Chilwell lads, cuz there was quite a lot of them when we played them and if some of them weren't allowed to play it'd be harsh, especialy as they're a lot younger than us lot too!!
Ruling would be just like ice hockey without the checking and fighting, unless you consent it with the person before of course, eg me and kilner!! LOL!!

yeah fair enough they did have a bit of an army behind their bench didnt they. Don't think we have even got 20 people though lol. Will Tom martin be playing for us or chilwell. I know we have matt but we'll need another goalie available

Yeah but its unfair on him being a goalie and playing Matt instead when Matt is technically an outfield skater!! I'd quite happily go in goal as a back up to Matt unless Tom didn't mind.

So we're gonna have to let Tom down gently lol
Unless it was begginers luck for matt

I think they are both decent netminders would be happy to have either of them but dont think its fair to leave one of them as backup. I'm willing to do some netminding too if we are short one week so theres a few of us who are willing to give it a go if need be.

That's another thing. Is Matt consistant!! Tom let in 5 goals in one period, there goalie let in 3 so it wasn't too big a margin, plus our defense was pretty poor all game!! The second and third period was a lot closer and I feel had we played like we did in the last two periods we may not have lost!!
But didn't Tom play outfield as well?? If so would he mind doing that, we could swap between the two when needed etc.

Yeah I know that mate and I'm more than wiling to let you play in goal, but I just feel a bit bad for Tom, as he is technically a goalie and yet he's being forced to either play outfield or sit out!! Plus its his kit you use so we need him on our team not anyone elses!!

yeah i know what you mean, it was ollies and chris's kit that i used but yeah i know what you mean. i don't mind where i play but i'd like to stay in goal for roller hockey unless it was just beginners luck and im actually crap lol

O right then in that case you can play in goal and we'll still put Tom down on our list as an outfield skater and then swap if needs be!! If either of you are having a mare in your positions then swap or if one of you can't make it!! Like I said I'm more than happy to do it myself at times, I'm not bad, and I'd be a dirty keeper!! LOL!!

from the chilwell point of view i think this is a good idea but maybe this season is to soon to get it played over so many games a meeting between all club would be a good thing let me know if we can get together to sort this out (a pub in town would be a good place to start)

I like the idea it's cool BUT i think we should stay as 3 lines 20 is too many, thats 5 lines we will hardley get on
3 lines will do us
Chris Jhonson Oliver Dod Ben Sanders Lee Foster < New Comer Lee Holland < New Comer COACH Craig Andy Haywood Inder Simpson Chay James Becky ellis or beckys bro
Matt Truney < in goal
^^ Thats 3 lines and also a goalie so that will do us
