If any budding/existing inline hockey teams want somewhere to train or hold events in the summer months, Derby Storm will be available as the Midlands leagues have now finished.
I believe the Storm rink will be under new "hockey" management shortly.
If anyone's interested I can put them in touch with the person taking the bookings.

I play in the midlands league at Derby Storm. I have heard many rumors about the place being shut down since the season finished. Do you know if there is any truth in them? Thanks Carole

I have heard it's highly unlikely that the Derby Storm Rink will be resurrected. That's a big shame, but I am also hearing rumours of an "all singing, all dancing" roller hockey rink being planned for Burton on Trent next season - fingers crossed the rumours are true !!!!

No official announcement re the Burton rink, but I gather it's got planning permission now. It will also be used for 5-a-side football.
There will be a fullsize pad with boards and plexi, plus Sport Court or similar floor - cafe, changing rooms, car park, etc.
I am praying this goes ahead ....

Kilner is correct - Burton is the other side of Derby from Notts. Praying this goes ahead - it'll ran and owned by a businessman who cares about hockey and knows how to run things. Even though i'll be off at Uni by then
