Muse haarp just watched it, arrived today from play, brilliant, got all the cd's but visually terrific as well, great value for money! I was their, I prefer their older stuff, IMO Showbiz was their work of genius.

I too liked the Nickelback "All the Right Reasons" cd but for anyone who likes that style, then they should try Shinedown. Their most recent cd "Us & Them" was released in 2005. Here is their wiki entry. IMO vocalist Brent Smith is way better than Chad Kroeger dare i laugh again? nickelback fans ought to listen to creed if they dont already. or yellowcard or whatever they are called. they're pretty good, creed minus scot stapp. Buster, you conformist, you used a smiley (which bit you laughing at anyway?) Have to say that Creed were an awesome band, even though Scott Stapp was a little bit odd. He had one of the best guitar players in the world in Mark Tremonti, but he wouldn't let him play, no solos or lead breaks or anything to show off his talent. Since they split from Stapp and recruited Myles Kennedy, we have had the best from Tremonti. Alter Bridge are the band and I think they are better than Creed but I do like guitar heroes. Check out Open Your Eyes and wait for the lead break. Here is what wiki says

Yellowcard are a pop-punk band from Florida. Ocean Avenue is probably their best known song. Massive in the US but not over here.....perhaps because they sound like hundreds of other pop-punk bands. Ok but not stand-out.

Your last line again to prevoke a responce. no, my last line to have a laugh at the comment that kicked off the whole previous moan. i thought you'd see i was having a laugh. maybe i ought to go back to posting smileys in every thread if you are this sensitive, spike. Don`t you realise that if you don`t know a person it`s very difficult to know when a person is being serious or not. So yes maybe you should go back to puttint smileys etc on your posts. [glow=red,2,300] thought i'd play it safe seeing as spike cant tell when its plain as day that im joking, i didnt want him to go off on one again. [/glow]Buster, Why have you had to bring Spike into one of your posts again? i`ve biten my tongue for long enough now. It`s not as plain as day when you are joking, you have managed to wind many people up who haven`t actually posted it on here, or is it part of a plan to get as many folk talking about you as you obviously like the attention it gets you. Spike probabley not going to be too pleased i`ve posted on here, i`m proud that he`s managed to stick up for himself and as given as good good as he`s got from you. Maybe you could also bare in mind that not all posters are adults, so therefore don`t always interprite things the same as the adult members. In case you haven`t cottoned on by now Spike is my son. Can i now take the oppotunity to appologise to the others forum members and to the mods for my rant, and to say sorry to Spike for going into `mother mode` in public. But i make no appology to you Buster for thinking that you are nothing but a Bully.

But i make no appology to you Buster for thinking that you are nothing but a Bully. 1. i've been here long enough, most people have cottoned on to when i am joking and when im not. i mentioned spike again because it was directly linked as to what i was typing, so other people didnt overreact (like you have just done) for no reason. i used his name in context and was making a valid point. if this whole debaucle had been about grumpy, and i mentioned his name again, would you have batted an eyelid? i sincerely think not. 2. i am who i am, i dont seek attention, especially when most of it is unwarranted. but i cant stop people from talking about me. 3. if you were my mum and you typed that out, i'd be mortified. 4. you say spike stuck up for himself, he did alright, but ultimately his misunderstanding of my post is the cause of all this, he himself acknowledges that he miscontrued what i'd typed. but if he did so well and gave as good as he got, why are you chipping in? 5. i had cottoned on you are his mum, but should i him special treatment because of that or should i treat him the same as everyone else? 6. i may be arrogant, opinionated, even an hairy bum, but im certainly not a bully. seriously, if spike is big enough to roll with the big boys (you brough his age into this, not me) then let him roll with the punches. dont think i am singling him out, because im not, regardless of how you perceive my words.

But i stand bt what i say, and you will stand by what you have just said. quick question, if my behaviour towards spike is so bad, and if what i typed in this thread was so terrible it warranted a rant off you, why has no mod deleted it/pm'd me/warned me? not being funny, i just think you are being over protective. i cant fault you for that. though if someone else had said what i said and got into the discussion about nickelback and the outcome was the same, i very much doubt you would have typed a single word.

As i said Buster i was in " Mother mode". It wouldn`t of mattered who had made the comments, if i really have a problem with someone going on at my family i will tell them. Anyway we`ve both had our say, i`m sure other posters are sick of all this, so lets lay it to rest.

Back on thread again, Northern Soul is my chosen poison when it comes to music. Ah! to be young again and back at the Wigan casino, Twisted wheel, Golden Torch or even end of the pier at Cleethorpes and later at the Winter Gardens. Just to be back on a scooter heading for an all-nighter, anywhere. Throwing talcum powder on the floor, swapping records or badges with some dude from Manchester, or Stoke. Ah! Yes I am showing my age now, but some really classic sounds like. Out on the floor, Dobie Gray , Sliced Tomatoes, Just Brothers Interplay, Derek and Ray And one of my all time favourites, Long after tonight is all over By Jimmy Radcliffe The last link shows some of the dance moves we used to think so cool, back in the day (70's) although not a full track, and not all the dance moves, those that are interested follow this link it will explain more than I ever could, and those that are old enough to remember, ENJOY. And no apologies that this music is not really suitable for Ice Hockey. Although Interplay.......

the knives are a good group, they did the original of that jose gonzalez song 'heartbeats' that was used on the sony tv ad with all the bouncing balls in san fransisco. a real eye opener as to how his cover was so far removed from the original.
also been listening to a bit of the gallows recently too, though i cant make up my mind about them.

Congrats to Leona Lewis on becoming the first UK female to have a #1 in USA USA USA. She got a huge boost by appearing on Oprah and, as the kids like to say, represented. I expect her to appear on American Idol soon where she is better than any of this year's contestants. On OprahOn Leno

I expect her to appear on American Idol soon where she is better than any of this year's contestants. On OprahOn Lenoi really like leona's first single but 'they' need to give her songs that are upbeat and good pop songs, instead of slow and whiney ballads. granted, everyone buys the ballad that the winner of those sort of shows releases, but to carry on releasing them is a deathwish, look at g-g-g-g-gareth g-g-g-gates and will young. where are they now? i think she has far too much talent to drift into obscurity like the rest of the dullards that preceded her.

Agree 100%. The problem here is that the promotions/record company (Simon Cowell/Louis Walsh) seems to think that the X-factor audience is mainly middle-aged, middle of the road Westlife fans and tend to cater for them, rather than try to use the full talent of the performer or even expand that talent. Leona Lewis has an exceptional voice which should be pushed to the limit and not wasted on the turgid pap they are currently releasing.

Shamelessly copied from the thread about Journey because this guy is awesome and deserves to be massive. Jeff Scott SotoYeah he did support Skid Row at RC Ah, was wondering when I'd seen JSS, that was it. Heard some of his Queen covers, would've preferred him to get that job than Paul Rodgers TBH. Any recommendations for his stuff Grumpy? Recommendations for JSS. First recommendation is go see him live, but you did that already. As far as cds, well it gets tricky cos he has done so much, check this for a discographyA lot of his early stuff is difficult to find, ebay etc are the best bets. For more up-to-date stuff, the easiest way is the online store cd and dvd. The cds I would choose for you are JSS - Prism, JSS - Lost In The Translation, Talisman - Cats And Dogs Dvd wise, well if you are a Queen fan then the Queen convention concert is an essential purchase. As you say JSS should be doing the Queen gig instead of Paul Rodgers but more people know Rodgers than JSS. From the earlier stuff Talisman - 1st, Eyes- 1st are top class. There are also 2 double-cds of Jeff doing covers/tributes which showcase his limitless vocal talents. These are difficult to find but amazing to hear. I do have a large collection of JSS stuff if you (or any one else)wants to hear some, then PM me.

A front man with a big ego is hardly a shocker though is it, I won't hold that against JSS.

Been listening to BRMC latley. Not the most of musically gifted bands, but can write some good stuff.
Also Been listening to John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist). I must say he is a dan guitarist. I prefer his solo stuff to the work he does in the Chili Peppers.
Also been enjoying the Cooper Temple Clause, great band back in the day, shame Didz broke the band up.
