I saw Duffy recently on Jools Holland, & she impressed the hell out of me. I am gutted I have to miss her upcoming Nottingham gig. Hopefully she'll be back soon.

Good tune Ads but its a bit oldschool nowadays....does remind me of secondary school though Oldschool!!?? Sounds pretty modern to me. But I left school a few years before you were born, Higgy. This is a another good reason for a thread like this, who knows what musical treats can be passed on. As a music lover I will listen to everything before passing judgement although I am a rock and guitar fan, there may be something I have missed.

i heard a new band today called 'black tide'. aside from the widdly guitar buts (like when my chemical romance try to be like queen) they are pretty good, have a very 80's garage band sound. some of the rock folk on here might like them. Being around in the 80's, when the original "hair metal" bands (I really HATE that term, but I suppose it fits the genre) were the big thing, I am a massive fan of the widdly guitar bits (this IS the technical term!). I really like This. Not much else on youtube that has any real quality. But I will look out for these, cheers buster, keep 'em coming to be fair youth, i criticise peoples taste, but its only because mine are so superior. i'm glad you are starting to realise this the solo's are annoying, thats the widdly bits i was referring to earlier, they seem to have the same harmonising sound that is the 'in' thing at the minute. but all in all, they're ok. i take it as an 80's rocker, you'll be a fan of warrant?

Few too many best-of albums released over the years, but the first 2 albums are class. Reckon they reformed recently actually, as most bands of that age tend to be these days (which is a clearly a good thing). Edit - I lied, first 3 albums are class.

Warrant,eh? During the late 80's, I really couldn't get into them, don't know why because they were (are again, if reports of Jani Lane's return are true) a great band. I got into them more in the mid-late nineties, when I was trying to 'find myself' following my divorce. Uncle Tom's Cabin being my favourite. Cherry Pie was the floor-filler at Rock City

(i can only find a naff live version) its a shame that jani lane was known mostly for being the cherry pie guy.

Just got into 30 Seconds to Mars, thanks to the wife. Took her to see them last week for her birthday, and they really impressed me.
Their latest album is really good as well, The Kill, A Beautiful Lie, Attack and my fave From Yesterday are stand out tunes.
They aren't very big over here so not epxecting many to have heard of them, but their lead singer is actor Jared Leto.

An actor who jumps on the music bandwagon tends to be a talentless wannabe with a computer filtered voice. Not so , this time. Jared Leto has exceptional talent, particularly in the songwriting area. I first heard The Kill late last summer and it stuck in my mind. Then I got hold of an mp3 copy of the cd. Very impressive. Also impressive are the videos for The Kill and From Yesterday. Both are superb.

It's was the musician jumping on the acting bandwagon this time. He's not bad at it either TBH, if you check out Chapter 27 you will know what I mean. Oh another thing, as well as writing the music, I am sure he produces and directs the videos also.

Looking forward to seeing DUFFY on the Jonathan Ross Show, shortly She was great on the woss show, raw welsh talent, we can belt out a tune guys, The welsh influence on great british music is self evident! seriously seen her a couple of times on later with jools and she is going to be a major force in music, total class act. The way she dresses looks like a child of the sixties but sings like aretha, and far better than the girl who has gone back to rehab, even though she was saying no,no, no,!

If anyone saw EMT on last Thursday there was a band called 'the raw', all of which are Panthers fans and one of their dads sponsors the panthers.
They won the British stage of the international battle of the bands and are now ranked as the best unsighned band in Britain. They're gonna tour America now for the $1m record contract up for grabs competing against bands across the globe. Fingers crossed for them and hopefully in a few years we'll have some international rock stars watching in the NIC.

Well, I told everyone I knew that we were going to see them in the build up to the concert and only one person had heard of them....my Dad and that was because they were on Jonathan Ross and he loves that show. Even now, I am yet to find one person at work, friends etc that have heard of them. Maybe people know The Kill when they hear it, but just don't know the band who sing it.

Anyone venture to the Pumpkins gig last night? probably not as that was the least attended gig ive seen at the stadium really empty, although it was the best performance ive seen in the arena for a few weeks Girlfriend made a joke which really back fired, as we were waiting for the encore she said wouldn't it be funny if at a gig the fans stood waiting and clapping for 10min's, then the lights came on and an announcement was made saying that was the end of the show! guess what happened! At least the pumpkins sounded good when they were on stage!
