With 10 teams now in the league, does anyone know whether it will be 3 home 3 away = 54 games or if it's 2 home 2 away = 36 games with challenge cup and maybe playoff games on the season ticket.

To stop the season ticket holders from bleating? Well, just to please the 'I hate season ticket holders' types there was a brief mention at the Q&A on Tuesday that there may be a discount on the tickets for the 3 Hull games for normal ticket purchases. Maybe... apparently it's one of several matters under discussion, so no guarantees.

In fairness to the club (which I don't find myself saying often) the season tickets were advertised as x amount of home games - if I remember rightly! But its good to see them possibly trying to offer a discount for the remainder of the home games - My beef with the season tickets this year is the fact you had to buy them so early - so needless to say we didn't re-buy our 2 seats! I at least like to know who the coach is going to be! Right rant over

Keep in mind though folks, according to the Devils forum there is a chance that there might not be a Devils team this season!

I have no objection to season ticket holders getting fringe benefits that the club decide to throw in their direction. What I object to is people thinking they have a right to insist upon extras despite already getting what they signed up and paid for.

No sunbeam the rink arrived the other day and is well on course to be completed. The problem as i understand it from our forum is the tender conditions state that the Operator of the new ice rink will have 100% call on Ticket Revenue and sponsership within in the rink. And since Arena sports (bob Phillips) wont be owning the new rink we have to hope who ever the operator of the new rink is (we will know Monday) will have negotiate this. If we get someone funny operating it then who knows what could happen. But hey who wants a hoard of angry Devils fan bashing down the door?

[ So the owner of the rink gets almost all the money the Devils make? But doesn't pay the wages? I don't see that working! No the owner of the rink would get ALL the money the devils make in their building at least thats what the tender document entitles them to. So we are now hoping we have a sympathetic operator to come in and give us some lee way to gain those monies. Another problem we have though (as if we havent had enough) is that given the hefty sum of money the operator would pay to own the building then they would want to recoup as much money as possible to gain a profit (and even then considering the rink is only going ot be there for between 3-5 years i would suggest it would be a miracle to even break even in the place) So to enforce their right to all that revenue would make bussiness sense for them. We sit and wait anxiously for Monday, i am beginning to think though that this new rink was jinxed we have just had one problem after another with the place!

I would guess that although they are entitled to keep 100% of advertising and ticket revenue at their venue (as I imagine would be the case with almost any privately run venue until agreements are entered into), in practice they probably will not be able to. Especially if it means that the Devils won't be able to afford to play.
Let's say they go 60-40 (numbers plucked from nowhere) with the Devils. 60% of something is more than 100% of nothing. My guess is they're already in negotiations over who gets what.

Negotiation with who, the Devils dont know who is operating the place. and wont know till monday. Honestly Cardiff Council are just a bunch of muppets who are hell bent it seems on making our 'seamless transition' from the WNIR to the new place as difficult as possible

Do you mean the fans won't know or the club won't know? Do you know for sure that the club don't already know?
Also, if there's a short list of possible operators then the club could already be negotiating with any/all of them just in case. If the council are yet to decide who the operator will be then it's possible that the operator's proposed package for the Devils is one of the deciding factors.
Basically, unless you're on the inside of all this it's anyone's guess what's going on.

Trust me Doughnut no one in the club knows who is going to be operating that building, the council makes it's desicion on Monday. The Devils i would assume have a good idea who is in the running for it, but let me assure you they havent got the foggiest who's gonna get it. I would like to have faith in CCC that they would have the Devils best interest at heart but in past dealings with them they wont have, i am caustiously optimistic about it all as i think the Devils would be the main attraction of that ice rink.

Sorry to be thick here Gazza but are you says that all ST and match day ticket money could go to the operator? If so I don't see where Bob P gets his money from bar the club sponsors. Every Summer there's always something in British ice hockey!

Every Summer there's always something in British ice hockey! No season ticket money goes directly to the club, that would be 100% the Cardiff Devils money. However all you Panthers fans coming down to the rink and paying on the door would indeed be giving your cash to the operator of the Ice Rink and not the Cardiff Devils if the Tender document is followed to how it is now. The rest you have exactly right Bob and the Devils would not get Any money from sponsership within the building (only on shirt sponsers and external sponsers etc) The Advertising boards for instance would be useless to us but a nice earner for the operators. So come monday if these operators decide they want 100% of ticket money and advertising space i will be a hockey nomad!

As long the discount does applies to the fans who don't hold the season ticket...
If not then the season tickets should cough up the full amount....tough!
