Can someone tell me an email address for the Catering people at the arena? I want to complain about the total lack of ice for drinks at the last FOUR Panthers matches....

I am afraid I can't help on that front BUT! In the McDonalds on Clumber St. There is a recruitment banner asking for new staff for Nottingham Arena!

You should've seen the catering at the Motorhead gig at Rock City last night ! I walk up to the lass on the counter and ask if there's any food:
"Well there is, but there's not very much of it and its not very nice. There's sausages and burgers, but the bread's been in the freezer for two months and we've only got a microwave and there's no chips. A couple of people have ordered something, but took one look said its disgusting and asked for their money back".
I told her she had one hell of a sales pitch. I was talking about it to a mate at the balcony bar and the barman overheard:
"You've been to the food bar then ?"
"Err, yeah. Someone organised that well, didn't they ?"
"Yeah, welcome to Rock City".
Priceless !

Talking of which, this has probably been mentioned before, but did anyone notice that the price of a pint of Carling shot up about 40p during the summer?
I guess it helps diet.
The thing I hate most about the catering at the NIC is how the jumped up supervisors see it "cool" to rollock (and I said rollock!) the staff constantly in front of the customers. I just find that a put off.

Their best has to be the fact that they appear to have started charging for ketchup etc. that used to be free, and they are actually advertising this as if they are doing customers some kind of special favour.

Yeah, the charging for ketchup and mayo is really penny pinching. It'll be straws and cup lids next.

I know 'ONLY 15p' you can pick up a full bottle for about 64p at the supermarket. As for the beer prices, instead of a pint at the end of each period and at least 3 in the bar after, I have 1 at the end of the first and 1 in the barafter the game then down to the Castle which seems to be doing better this year, that's where my money goes.

Can someone tell me an email address for the Catering people at the arena? I don't have any contact info for the caterers at the Arena. Try contacting the Arena directly. I'll raise the catering issue again with Geof Huckstep. There was considerable discussion about it last season and a review was instigated, but sadly things seem to have got worse not better.

I remember ordering something there once and managed to eat over half of it (I was drunk but not drunk enough to eat it all). I noticed that on the back of the access hatch (on the server's side) someone has written "Food bar sucks!". I pointed at it and nodded and the guy behind the bar just grinned sympathetically and nodded back. I've tolerated food there too though on occasions. I think a good rule of thumb is if you're drunk enough not to notice your feet sticking to the floor, then you're drunk enough to eat at the Rock City food bar ;D

And you're no longer able to wander down the steps for a chat with Fatz (Out back of Block 1) Imagine how bad it would be if you sat in block 17 and now had to wade through all the queues that go across the coridor you are trying to walk along, to get all the way back to the main foyer, queue to get out the foyer then queue again to get back in...every break!!! And why do you need to take a pass out thing AND have your ticket???

maybe if you didnt have your ticket people could drop the pass and somebody who didnt have ticket may be wondering about and may pick it up and use it to get in

And why do you need to take a pass out thing AND have your ticket??? So that you don't pass your ticket over to someone on the other side of the foyer barrier and they can get in on your ticket So a ticket with the stub taken off can't be used by a fresh person. Remember there are 100s of folks on the other side of the barrier that haven't got a ticket for the game and don't want one but don't want to pass up on a free opportunity to get inside and have the privilege of purchasing the excellent burgers ;D

The standard of catering is awful - many previous posts attest to this. The NIC always respond by pointing out it is a franchise. The fact is, it reflects badly on the NIC - the staff have the NIC logo on their shirts. The price rise on the beer happened immediately BEFORE the play off weekend in April, so it shows how much they think of Hockey fans - I recall someone saying they raised this (or a related issue) with Geoff Huckstep who responded by saying they could go and drink elsewhere. No doubt the Castle has benefitted. I believe the company who hold the franchise are Lindley Catering, and their e mail address is enquiries@lindleycatering.co.uk.

To be fair, the burgers are passable enough for arena food and the beer is passable too. At least you can actually get served between periods without missing the restart, something I've never managed yet at Sheffield !
I miss the 'pizzas' (using a very broad definition of 'pizza' for the glorified cheese on toast that used to be served) at our gaff, although I'm sure I was the only one who ever ate them and you had to order a period in advance.

Catering I think we are using this word in it loosest possible context. HL
