Wow, guys, don't take the gag so pesonally. We didn't leave the pads behind, it's no egg on our face. Let's just have a chuckle and move on. It's kind of amusing that DS winds so many people up. Great timing for the story and to stick it on here with all the other news of the day makes me smile.
Sometimes we can be so lame.

'Panthers Can Do No Wrong' & 'I must hate the Steelers - coz that's what we are supposed to do'. Oh i remember me and you been like that Tone, those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end Me neither. Perhaps that's part of my sadness & frustration with people like Rob. Looking back Chris, we believed the hype, & the subtle brainwashing too. (No offence Rob)

Perhaps that's part of my sadness & frustration with people like Rob. Do you realise how pretentious that statement makes you look. Not being funny but you don't even know me. What gives you the right to judge me? Is it because you have been watching the Panthers longer than I have? Not much I can do about that is there? Sorry to offend, but I clearly missed the punch line on this one. ''People LIKE Rob'...note the key word. I am pretentious? You don't know me either, & if your above point is correct, you have no right to judge me either It's got sweet f.a to do with how long you've been watching either, & I aint even sure if I have been watching longer to be honest. Like I said, the ORIGINAL point of this thread is a joke. It should be treated as such, & I still say don't get so wound up by the gobby brummie...hell...just don't get so wound up!

I think there's probably only you and Simms who are going to come out of this thread with any credit. * * * I have to comment on Teddy C's quote in your sig, by the way: the image of someone slipping a tenner and four pound coins into a stripper's underwear is hilarious. Reminds me of an anecdote about a guy thrown out of bar in Amsterdam for swiping his Barclaycard between an employees cheeks ...

Lets just agree to disagree then Rob. I do think your reading waaaaay to much into my comments, & took them a wee bit too personally. I also found some of your comments belittling, & patronising. The End

I thought from the title he was offering to tell us who our new player is (should we ever get one that is). Oh, hang on... that's in a different thread.

Is there nothing on here that can be turned into an argument ? I thought it was funny. It wasn't inflammatory. Pity those with a sense of humour bypass get so uptight. I bet Dave's having a chuckle to himself at some of the overreaction!

I'm not saying everyone has to find it funny - humour is subjective! It was obviously posted as a bit of fun. It wasn't intended to stir, or flame things. I suspect most people found it funny.

If we get Matsos demanding a pad measure from the Stripeys during the next Steelers v Panthers game, I think we'll know the answer! Seems ages since we had an illegal equipment call - probably wont be able to find the gauge again if there is one. ;D Funny you should mention that Rob wilson called one in cardiff last sunday i was Took me back to the ISL it did

simmsy is our main rivals (open to debate... not the point) main stirrer. I thought it was funny. Having got Simmy to do the moose at the HOS and did the Powerplay ad with him and the pandas hes a top bloke.
I know hes disliked for stirring but at the end of the day its harmless fun. Certainly made a change from the normal "discussions"... i use the term loosely.... we have seen of late

Haha, Simms is such a pantomime baddie.
I'd be worried if he was behind me though.

Mountains and molehills here, I think. Sure - Dave Simms has about much class as a burned-out school, but hey - in this case, he's got a bit of justification. It was a simple enough mistake leaving the pads, but a dumb one (I'm not having a go, we all make dumb mistakes) and the Steelers - if this account is accurate, and I see no reason to suspect otherwise - came to our aid. It sticks in the craw, I know... but in this case, we owe the Steelers some thanks - a small amount of thanks, and very grudging! - but thanks nonetheless. The comment on their website? - yeah, there's not much class to it, and we know they'd be up in arms if the Panthers had done the same - but unfortunately they've earned the (very small ) right to tweak our noses on this one. Stuff happens, as they say in Moderated Land (The other thing in the Stir on the work permits leak issue about "his duty as a fan to bugger up the Panthers" and "he has our total backing"... now that is stupid, crass and possibly even actionable... or would be if the EIHL had any balls at all - which it doesn't. But that's another kettle of rancid fish.) One thing did make me laugh, though... Yep - if you want to screw up financially, cheat your way to trophies, have a crook as an owner and generally be despised as the most arrogant bunch of <censored>s in the sport... ask a Steeler!

I left my Panthers banner hanging over our bench in Edinburgh a couple of games ago.
Simmsy would have had a field day if I'd left it in Sheffield, wouldn't he!
Edinburgh? They very kindly posted it back to me a day later.

4 Pages on the Pads .......... and most of it very funny at how easy you bite, what the matter with you. Some of you are so shallow. Most of you see it as a bit of fun which is what it is
