Congratulations Panthers.
We beat Shuff, Belfast and Cardiff (who beat Coventry on their way to the final), no easy route to picking up any trophy.
The team that finished 5th in the League has won the Play-Offs.
Im very, very proud of them.

Well, just nipped over to say my congrats to you guys - and am gobsmacked at the amount of you who feel the need to comment more on the Steelers rather than congratulating your team. Unbelievable !!
Anyway, well done Panthers. Wasn't there today but hear you played a superb game and closed the Devils down well. Congratulations and see you in the Autumn !!

Just got back...from the party in the square. After an hour of singing and chanting, the lads went out on the balcony and celebrated with the fans for a good 15-20 mins. Jonny Craighead joined them on the balcony to join in too.
What an awesome, awesome day. We played better than yesterday, but things still didn't click for us. I was very nervous, all the way through. Devils looked like scoring, but when we went to penalties I was quietly confident.
The Devs players just didn't look like the fancied it, and who could blame them. Some of the save Rasto has made against top players the last few days is phenomanal.
Laughed at the Steelers who left right after the last penalty, wonder what they were hoping for! That just added extra shine to day, winding up the Squeelers.
Have many a pic to show of the celebrations, will post them shortly.

Well what an awesome day!
Didnt go yesterday, so didnt know what to expect; arrived to a great atmosphere. and a great load of Panthers fans having the time of their lives (how many balloons?!).
The game wasnt great, but was a proper final in my eyes; both teams fully committed, some awesome end-to-end hockey at times especially in the third (Quick note on the ref, Hanson I think: had a pretty decent game, was good in the first two but let everything go in the 3rd and OT, but in fairness, I probably would too).
Rasto is a god, and Trevor really was the difference, fully justified Ellis' decision to let go Simeoes. The celebration was just fantastic.
Just dont want the day to end! x

60 minutes of pure hell but what a rush when Rasto saved that last penalty. Absolutely fantastic.
Special mention for HelenB, total star today, Jono, get her snapped up.
How good is it to be a Panthers fan right now?

Scrappy game but finals usually are. Neilson was immense AGAIN! Big game player and a half. He kept giving Voth alot of stick throughout the game.
Again, not impressed with Gallant, but it was an awesome penalty shot! You can tell the rest of the team dont like him!
We really closed Cardiff down well and stiffled them.
AWESOME WIN GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done to the team - it has been a very long wait since 1989! Thought we could have killed it in the first period and saved all of our nerves - but hey we did it in the end Agree with previous posts that Neilson was immense today, I thought that pre-shootout he was definite MOM. I also thought that Gallant played a very strong game today and carried McAslan who looked worn out to me. Brilliant win, I loved singing all those songs that we normally watch Sheffield sing

Well mrsminer has now turned 40 and will open her presents in the morning BUT I don't think there is anything that can match the early birthday gift that is the play-off championship.
