Alfaro was centre on the line with Fossier and Doherty. I’m pretty sure when Pearson was signed Stewart said he was planning for him to play centre. With Henbrant returning you’d expect him to be playing LW on line 1 or 2, so that means we probably should be looking at a RW to play in the top 6. Which I feel is a necessity in terms of balance. I may be wrong I’m by no means any sort of statto but I thought it was Doherty playing C with Alfaro on RW? Doherty did take face offs for some of last year, basically regularly up to game 28 (11 Jan vs Giants), going a fairly sub par 140/311, 45.0%, but was then used sparingly in the dot thereafter, only 92 more taken after game 28, but won 55, for 59.8%. (Another stat further highlighting his stellar second half of the season.) In the games that line was togther, which lest we forget was only the last 11 games of the reguar season and the 4 of the playoffs, Doherty took 49 faceoffs in the league and 34 in the playoffs, Alfaro 242 and 84. Worth also mentioning that the stats in the playoffs for that line in total were Fossier 6+4, Doherty 2+4, Alfaro a surprising (given the other 2) 0+1.

From what I remember of the playoff games and the later games in the season, Doherty was taking neutral zone face-offs (from offsides etc) Alfie was taking offensive and defensive zone faceoffs. Probably helps take a little pressure off Alfie. There's some excellent drawing centres in this league.
