I think a few teams will be looking to sign Lajeunesse at the end of the season Any of the half decent ones like Roy and Lemay will be off the moment they are our of the playoffs. And then it's rebuild no 465 in the summer ...

Oh dear, didn't fancy defending tonight? Didn’t fancy posting in the game thread on Sunday, you know, the one relating to a Panthers win? Of course not, wouldn’t fit his narrative

Perhaps a new gold standard? How many gold standards is that 😂 So what’s the answer then? What would you do for next season?

And people are still praising the team on X We just shipped 9 goals against the 2nd worst team in the league. And that is why after 30 years I've walked away. Its a fan base I don't know anymore. Where failure is celebrated. A fan base that gets giddy calling players by nicknames. A fan base that really believes the players like and know them. Players don't give stuff about them. All our fan base care about now is shirt signings, having a picture with paws and really believing the off ice shambles is the envy of the league! This club has fallen

I don't know this fanbase anymore now either. It's so true about the players. If only the fans knew what these players thought of them

The players are laughing at them and they really believe the bs being pumped out. Issue is once the novelty wears off for these new 'fans' and they find something else to do what's left for the club? Long standing fans have called it a day. Since Omar arrived we are the Stars version 2

I think when Pasha was told to build closer ties with the Lions I didn’t think he would start with the results.

It was actually a very entertaining game. Continual end to end play with no netminder or defence on either team, “north of the border” style officiating and the commentator on the webcast was brilliant. No continual use of sycophantic nick names or utter b@llocks repeatedly bumming up her team as if the audience had never seen the EIHL before. Moments of pure genius and outright comedy for a full three periods. It transcended the journey to great entertainment seamlessly and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
No matter what had happened in this tragic season I think we are pretty much where we were always destined to be. Two teams of players thrown together, one due to budget restraints and one through total incompetence and once you embrace that the BS just slips away and once again it will soon be April.

But but but we scored 7 goals surely that should be celebrated. Been a while since we scored 7. Sorry for the sarcasm.

One for Bobness. When was the last time we lost such a high scoring game in Kirkcaldy. Must of been when Doug Smail almost single handedly destroyed us in the third period back in the early 90's.

Interestingly Rok didnt back up last night so we dressed 14 imports. Tonight Rok starts with Robinson backing up. Rok on the bench last night may have just got us the win if the coaches could see Robinson struggling.

I can only think it was to physically rest him to save the travel to and from fife before the Sunday game and being sat on a bus all that time. It’s extreme, but guess it paid off in that regard, however knowing how the defence played on Saturday, in hindsight maybe not the best decision

Although perhaps not the best idea. As someone's said above, not often you see a 9-7 result with no goalie changes for either side... No-one recorded the face off stats for this game, it seems? I also note that the "expected goals" per the EIHL thing was 2.06 to Panthers, 1.82 to Fife. That kind of game presumably makes a mockery of the algorithm... Finally, not a single shot was from a "high danger" area for either team...

Would be interesting to know what "high danger" means. At least one of their goals appears to have been dead centre, almost top of the crease. 6 in the slot, 4 of which were beyond the face off dots.
Edit - just watching the highlights, our first two goals, not "high danger"? Despres walked onto one right out front, and Roy deked the goalie!

"High danger" appears to be effectively on top of the crease. "Low danger" appears to from the blue line or the boards, "Mid danger" is everything in between.

Not shooting the messenger, Bob, although you are one of our stats representatives so... 😉
Even the dots on the map look to be in the wrong place.

Not shooting the messenger, Bob, although you are one of our stats representatives so... 😉 Even the dots on the map look to be in the wrong place. It's a hobby, I have no more sway than anyone else, and work entirely from the publicly available data. I wish I did have the data that Jim Mciag (for example) has, although that would mean me having to give up work, so... Yes, the dots are not always exactly 100% accurate, but we can only work with what we have, which is loads better than a few years back and seemingly improving year on year, so you have to be grateful for that. Kudos to the league for getting that side of things to another level.
