Only 15 shots on goal tonight (4+6+5)….jeez ! 🙈🙈 I’d say only a couple were what you’d call good chances.

What’s wrong with Ollie?

Pretty much the way I was coming on to sum up the game. I sat there at 2-2 saying to myselft how it was such a good game, then bang. Lights out and we were done. The second half was one of the worst performances i've seen. When Rok is good he's bloody brillaint. Whem he isn't he's aweful. Sadly another that fails to hold the tag of championship winning stamdard. Farley is a complete was of space. Pare, im affraid looks it too(I will absoloutly give him more time). Not enough to make a pysical impact and if he cant bring that i'm not sure what else he brings. You wont win many games against teams like Giants with 2 4th lines(at best) and no 1st line. Only 15 shots on goal tonight (4+6+5)….jeez ! 🙈🙈 That is a big problem for this team at the minute. We just don’t shoot the puck enough. Especially from the blue line. None of our Dmen have a good shot in them and very rarely try to use it whereas giants dmen hit a few bombs from the line tonight. Even if they don’t go in you’re forcing saves and getting potential rebounds

An injury that hasn’t been disclosed IIRC.

15 shots on goal is never gonna be a good foundation to set up a win.
We need to be better at not allowing by our goalie to be screened 3/4 of the goals Rok was unsighted.
Michaud was tripped after the faceoff before the one that led to the fight by Ben Lake (who was fantastic for giants, an irritant all night, did lots well on and off the puck) but then wouldn’t answer his actions so Michaud picked the next best option and did a great job standing up for himself.
This and the Guildford game have proved that hockey can still be played with an edge, physicality and all round entertainment. Shame the results are not coming our way.

Bit unfair to single out Rok. If you’re going to allow an opponent to skate straight through you then you get what you deserve. Couple of them were scrappy ones that somehow ended up in the net - again, not great defending. The one that went top shelf from out on the left was right in front on me. The trajectory must have been inch perfect to hit it from out wide to find the opposite top corner. Collectively, just fell apart after going behind in the 2nd. Really, really poor. I'm affraid we will disagree here, it's ok, it's what forums are for. No way he should let that 2nd in. He completly lost his eyes for catching today. Without his obvious mistakes we potentially stay in that game and get something. At 5 2 his mistakes were what had us at a loss. Others didn't have great games, but he had a stinker. That’s fair enough. My point was more not to just single out Rok when all around him were poor. Feel we would have lost comfortably even if he had a better game. Outshot, outfought and outplayed in every department.

Up until 2-2 it was a great watch,so nice to see some nasty stuff and fights again.
Then it fell apart, the physical approach from Giants just wore us down and we just looked done.
I've been fully behind the lads all season and will continue to be so but genuinely feel absolutely flat and deflated after that...surely Wednesday has to be better...please

I thought we played ok for the first 25 minutes and stood up for ourselves. Even winning the two fights. Powerplay was awful and Rok had a bad game. At 2:2 with the powerplay after the Caruso fight we don't score on the powerplay. Giants come back to full strength. Score a goal, get a powerplay score again and it's game over. Not sure why on the penalty kill we don't put Pare out. We signed him as he is meant to be a face-off winner and a defensive forward. He was winning his face-offs but no we don't use him.
Regardless of the Adam Johnson tragedy this team has been built all wrong. Pacha decided to go down the fast small forward route instead of having a balanced team and it does not work in our league. Belfast are far bigger and stronger and still matched us for speed. Just like every team we play. Some fans even pointed this out before the season started and the club put out social media interviews rubbishing their opinions. I wonder what they will say before assembling next year's roster.

Indeed where is he ? See this is what naffs me off about Panthers and injuries. A week before the last Guildford game they were “hopeful he’d be back for that game”. He wasn’t and since they said that FIVE games have now been played without him and likely six after tomorrow. What are they doing….this happens every season. 🙄

I think many of us stated it was obvious before the season started. Really hope this seemingly undying attempt to play small fast hockey is done after this season.

The team haven't recovered from the tragic loss of Adam Johnson and the effort and support from the owner has been to his usual standard.

…..Sheffield next week 😞😩 Can see that being a cricket score Well Fife just beat them so who knows……no, sorry, we’ll get stuffed lol And Fife only had 3 D men on the sheet according to the commentator Laura with injuries and sickness in the squad. We were 2nd best all night, haven’t got that sniper in front of goal , we are miles behind most teams in this league, shafted big time with a small budget and it shows, no intent from the hierarchy at all.

They rode the Panthers like a stolen donkey tonight. Thank goodness Belfast weren’t at full strength or god forbid they still had Conway. They would still be there replacing the goal nets.

I would not be surprised if Ollie is out for a long time. Especially reading between the lines now they have named Caruso as captain until the end of the season.

Me too but Neill was the captain (transferred to an 'A') and Caruso takes over, any understanding why? Believed one vice captain changed with Betteridge still assumed on that role, but as you say Neill and Lemay are the secondary now.

The Panthers are like the Royal Family, what’s that phrase the Royals use…”never complain never explain” is it ? Well in Pantherland that’s true too.

We were in it for a period and a bit, we stood up for ourselves but their 3rd and 4th goals seemed to deflate the players and the fans. Rok didn’t have the greatest of games tonight which was a big factor I thought.
Belfast are a good team now, as has been mentioned previously on here, they’ve brought back Goodwin and Cullen, Roach has returned from injury, those are 3 serious players to add. They play a very physical game though, we seriously struggled in the individual battles with them which is why we struggled to create much or sustain any zone pressure for the majority. Speed and power beats speed alone more often than not.
I don’t understand why we’re playing Farley on the 4th line, play him with some of our more technical players and give him a consistent run on a line. Paré didn’t bring what I thought he would tonight either

As much as I think Rok is a good netminder If we had swapped netminders with Belfast today, we would have won. The forwards work so hard for their goals, only to give up softies all the time. It must be so demoralising for the team.

It must be so demoralising for the team. For half the game we were in it but then all round defensive frailties showed and the forwards worked hard yes in general play but last night were extremely shot shy (only 15 in the whole game so your point misses the mark imo) We were beaten by a better outfit last night and there wasn’t a simple solution (and pinning It on just one guy isn’t the right view of the game)to have swung the result another way especially after midpoint of the game.

As I said in my first post it was just a way it was described at one point, if I remember correctly it was as part of the list of events during the memorial game it wasn’t as if it was an official designation for him or anyone else (could be corrected on this though). I don’t know who the initial players wearing the A were and I’m not going back through the news archives or game sheets tbh
