Just to add we’ve got a 20 min team for abuse now. Need to pack up and come home.

Greenfield, as far as I can tell has played all league games for Sheffield so far. Winning mentality. Bit strange for an import goalie to be OK with that much sitting on their hands though. Morrone seems to have played 6 Challenge Cup games and won the lot with a decent save percentage. I'm surprised he's not looked to move on, tbh. I think there are probably easier games we could put Robbo in goal for than tonight though. Basically anything Scottish at the NIC. Or Cardiff at the NIC, guaranteed 2.

With only 5 points between 3rd and last or put another way 9 from Cardiff down to Fife. You can only sigh and think ‘ what if’. An interesting league this season. Anyway, it’s a new day - a new dawn? ( nearly broke into dong then) so let’s get our act together. Here we go. Starting next week.

Well put. It’s a very tight league this year so far. Fife playing 0.400 hockey and are, rather incredibly, bottom. Yorkies look ominous though.

Close league for everyone apart from Sheffield. If it carries on they will be clear at the top come new year.

This season really doesn’t matter a lot after the tragedy in October and I hope that the team spirit that the guys are showing carries over to being the core of a team to build on going forwards. For me it’s all about next season now and hopefully keeping crowd numbers up which is looking to be a struggle league wide at the moment.
It was certainly a struggle tonight in Guildford. Good start but poor old Robinson had an absolute nightmare night. Unless he’s carrying an injury I have no idea why Roc wasn’t in goal tonight. Guildford stepped up on home ice (without the distraction of a crowd) and put Robinson to the sword. Poor guy was ricocheting rebounds like shrapnel at one point. Very pleased with Haseldine (big upgrade) and our new import at the back is class but he looks like he’s playing with a back injury to me. The new guy up front is gradually getting better but the most entertaining part of the evening was Perades going ‘old school’ on the refs and getting himself chucked out.
I think this season now is going to be all about home performances and keeping crowd numbers up in difficult times with all teams and let’s see what we can build on for next year.

I’ve been saying this since May/June this team is crying out for some toughness. Michaud got boarded badly from behind last night and not even 1 player spoke to him! These small young lads need protection, should of never signed Farley and brought in a power forward

A Colt King type of player would have transformed the way teams play against us.

On Saturday we were ok cause we got 2 quick ones, but if we ever go behind and teams play a 1 man forecheck and stick 4 players across centre ice we can’t get in behind them. Strange to me aswell as toughness/grit puts bums on seats. The NIC was empty Saturday night!

It's bonkers. Who rotates after a shutout. Clan coach Morgan has also done this. (We also lost!)

Steelers having no problem with crowd numbers. But then they aren't charging NIC kings ransom prices and have several £8 games which encourages newbies.

Or the Giants, both teams regularly posting crowds of 6000 plus. Sheffield and Belfast are obviously two cities that don’t have a cost of living crisis to use as an excuse for falling crowds.

Pretty much spot on that. I think for the first time in a long time many can agree the foundations are there to build on. The work ethic is fantastic and it appears to team spirit is better too. I dont think any player is perceived to be lazy. I'm not concerned if we go on to win anything or not come the end of the season, but keeping a core of these players is something we must be looking to do. Something we would want to do for the first time in a lomg time. I guess the only few irritations are that, firslty we should still be making the best calls to get the results where possible(keeping Rok in) and secondly, this team isn't far off. Add that power forward discussed and we'd have a chance. Sheffield are clear front runners but the rest is all very tight. One more bit of quality and we could have a good push. I think i'm right in saying that all things being equal we'd be second. On points % thats where we sit. With the christmas games to come I think we may slide a little but you never know. It'd be great for us to bring that extra guy in pre Christmas. Often rumoured but rarely arrive. Interesting that the runoured other signings havn't materialised also. I guess I just had that fairy tail in my head of einning it for AJ this season.

Hard to disagree with much of either post quoted above.

I guess I just had that fairy tail in my head of einning it for AJ this season. this is one particular view and as tragic and traumatic for players and fans as the AJ incident was as a long term fan i have put in season after season with the likes of sheffield splashing the cash both legally and not so legally and panthers penny pinching and not winning owt apart from a fat bank account...so personally i dont adhere to this thinking. If the team are so called professionals playing in a professional league then i want to see them win, as often quoted 2nd is first loser. If the team are incapable of winning then call me a fair weather fan but having watched ALOT of seasons with panthers not winning i will be saving my money for yet another season till the team can BTW as discussed i believe that with just a few player changes/additions then we could very likely compete with the likes of big spending sheffield but until that happens bridesmaids here we come even though they were the team that nobbled our best player... (this is joke btw please dont get all ansy)

(this is joke btw please dont get all ansy) As well as not being remotely funny, this post is also potentially libelous. You've just accused an organisation in the death of an individual. Calling it a joke doesn't make it less likely to to be seen and acted upon accordingly by the Steelers should they so wish. By the way, what is more professional than playing on through their loss and trauma? For the sake of 'fans' who will only be happy if they somehow win everything as well "So called professionals" really? Come on. PS: if you've ever thought tragedy chanting at football matches was disgusting, then congratulations you've basically just joined their ranks. You've just used the death of our player to attack an opposition team. Classy.
