That was absolutely pathetic. Bullied around our own building and struggled to overtime against one of the worst teams in the league, who could’ve seen that coming… so blatantly obvious that we lack physicality from before the season even started. The game followed a similar storyline as the Storm opener, but without the suicidal defending. Look fine in the first, but in the second and third get bullied as the refs swallow their whistles for huge periods of play. The refs in this league are pathetic and getting worse. The protection that Paredes wants from them just doesn't reliably exist in this league unless you can enforce it yourself.

The officiating just like the standard of ice hockey is through the floor now. And just for the record, I think Peredes is another useless knob and I have no idea where Pasha is getting them from

Started well, Dundee turned up in the 2nd and 3rd.
The refs had a bit of nightmare but it was even Stevens on the calls.
Funniest moment was kelsall not keeping his head up and getting wrecked but he had a strop 😁😁😁😁😁
It's gonna be a long season......

If that game doesn't show we need some stronger physical players I don't know what will. It's not just of case of not being able to stand up to them. We did ok at that. It is more the number of times Dundee won a faceoff in their own end skate forward into our zone and none of the back checking forwards are strong enough to knock them of the puck and they just skate around our zone choosing when to pass it at will. You don't need speed if you have the puck and strength to keep it. Dundee player who got the spear in the nuts got his just deserved as he late checked and then tried to mug our player and the ref knew she should of called the Dundee player for it and therefore let the retaliation go.

I thought Panthers looked decent when they had the puck & were able to keep possession. Some nice movement & it’s obvious that they have a decent skill level. Problem is, when it’s not working, they seemed to struggle to get to back to their own game. It’s evident that there’s some work to do to get this team firing on all cylinders but I enjoyed the game all the same.

Got quite a few non arena team games to come (best way I could say, easier teams to play) that you hope we'd win. So we must get points AND regulation wins on the board before we entertain the big boys which might include Manchester, if they continue their good start.

Was hoping for Panthers to show us their terrific speed and talent tonight but it couldn’t have been further from it, it’s great if a player has speed but if they don’t have any power to go along with it then they’re going to struggle in the majority of situations on the ice. We struggled in the circle again tonight which isn’t a surprise
Positives from the game, Stojanovic was quality again, not much fanfare around him but I think we’ve got a top goalie in Rok, he must play against Glasgow. Pleased that Tetlow got motm and a bit of a recognition, I feel he’s been good this season, composed on the puck and solid on the boards and around our net.
A dreadful officiating display tonight. Missed the spear form our player, which will probably result in a ban, and looking at the big screen it certainly looked like the Dundee player punched the puck across to their goal scorer. Plus a sprinkling of soft calls and missed calls, great night from them…

No doubt someone will be along soon to put up a (pointless) chart to point out average height and weights across the league ... 😉😴

Plus a sprinkling of soft calls and missed calls, great night from them… It was more off the upper arm than punching across (in real time it looked more as you describe) also as soon as it deflected off Rok any way after that perceived infraction it was nullified which is why the goal was given in my view without knowing the specific rule.

I know people will focus on their view on the officials etc, The main reason we made hard work of that was struggling to finish our chances. We should’ve been out of sight by the 30 minute mark of the game and the fact we weren’t allowed stars to grow in confidence which led to the equaliser

I thought Dundee were very lucky to not be more than 1-0 down after the 1st period.

Should have had a 2-3 goal lead after the first period as we were all over them like a rash. Logan Neilson was unlucky hitting the bar after a great feed from Kelsall. I don’t think we got overly dominated physically in that game. Certainly not to the extent we did when Manchester came. Wanting to see a lot more from Adam Johnson. Supposedly the star signing of the league and he’s shown very little so far

You know we have a few stat nerds in here. Me included.

Gave the penalty against Tetlow which seemed to me a brilliant stick check which the Stars then scored from. She also missed Kevin Carr punching Johnson (I think) with his blocker in the back of the head while prone on the ice and this was 6 feet in front of her face

Yep, as bad as it looked on the night. Looking straight at the late hit and the slash. At the time I thought it should've been 5+game. Nothing called on the play.

The other calls and non calls you wont see because they wont be significant enough to edit and put out. The hooking call on Tetlow was staggering.

The main talking point of the match won’t be the result but the officiating which was frankly atrocious, Neenan (sp) who was number 44, although that number is attributed to the other Sewell, was looking straight at the offence when Henbrant was hit late into the boards and was still looking at them when the slash to the nuts occurred and made no call! I don’t rate Liam sewell as a ref as he loses control of games and last night was no exception, numerous after the whistle hits, punches, grabbing in a headlock and he did nothing. So when retaliations happen he can’t control. Unfortunately the current crop of officials don’t seem to be up to the job possibly through lack of training, investment in the role by the league; but we are stuck with them, but I do feel teams should be able to constructively criticise the officials when they do a poor job.
