Win 3 2. Cardiff got a PP goal 6 on 4 with just over a minute left.

Excellent performance. Regardless of the shot clock I dont think Cardiff looked particularly dangerous at any point aside 10 minutes in the 2nd. Never really worried until the goal scored on a soft penalty to make it 3 2.
Rok probably wants the first goal back but aside that he had a solid game. The D was more assured and Neill showed his class tonight.

Very good job in nullifying Cardiff for large parts, kept them to the outside, closed them down well on the forecheck and won the battles around the net the 3 important times.
Silly penalty at the end made the score line closer than in reality it should’ve been, at no point did we ever seem in danger.
This is the level of work rate we need to see each game, much better than last week and the right response at home, just a shame it wasn’t in front of a bigger crowd/better atmosphere.

Different team tonight and played a lot harder. D used their size. Only downside was the daft cross checking penalty at the end just when it wasn’t needed.

Great result and performance, kept up the speed and intensity throughout and the passing was much much better.
Devils looked a bit devoid of ideas but we didn't let them settle much so we can take a lot of credit for that.
The atmosphere was really subdued I felt, didn't really get loud until the last 5 minutes.

A good hard working team performance. They didn't back away from Cardiff and out worked them most of the night. Even in the second when Cardiff had a lot of procession in our end they still kept them to the outside.
More of the same from now on will see us doing alright.

What was the attendance like? Not many there for a Saturday night to be honest. Loads of empty seats

Nice to be back in the arena for the usual 2 points from Cardiff. Didn't personally think the performance was anything particularly special, but we only had to beat a woeful Devils effort. Nice finish from Anderson to get us underway.

Good performance tonight from the team, we were comfortable without being overly impressive I thought. They played hard though especially the defence men and particularly Tetlow and Caruso, who I feel have been improved this season. Cardiff had a good spell of possession in the 2nd but there wasn’t a player on there team who I thought looked dangerous and I can’t recall any of them pulling a move and beating any of our men during the game.
A certain weak area to the team is in the face off circle, we only won 25% of our face offs tonight which must improve. We certainly look to have found a goal scorer though in Nieminen, a greasy goal from him but he got into the right spot.
Good night at the NIC

Felt that Devils tried to get physical in the latter stages when other things weren’t working- and it was good to see that we didn’t get out muscled / pushed around.
Deserved victory - good all round performance.

Well done Panthers, good victory. To be honest I thought until our 1st powerplay Devils looked the better team. The powerplay & the goal seemed to give us momentum & confidence. Once Devils scored though at the start of the 2nd we seemed to lose confidence & Cardiff for me became the the better team again. That is iuntil our two goals (which came out of nowhere) & changed the game. 3rd period I thought we were the better team, & Devils seemed to run out of ideas. As was said previously Devils did at one point try to get niggly, but nowhere near like the Devils teams of previous years.
The performance showed to me that we still a team lacking confidence and or cbelief in the way the coaches want the team to play. It is still early days though.
A wins a win. Hopefully we can move on from here.
Dundee being a physical team like Manchester will be a different test entirely next week.

Ok so we went in the end, last minute decision.
Nice to see a win in the NIC for change but overall average at best from both teams. If anything Cardiff were a bit crap. We also have to many of our forwards farting around with the puck instead of laying it and actaully creating a chance. More physical teams are just going to flatten the man very quickly.
Empty for a Saturday night at the NIC as well and rightly so after the past couple of performances.

The attendance was poor and if you think about it that was a league game so you can roughly gauge how many season tickets are there and compared to previous years we must have lost hundreds. I would even question the attendance I would have said just around the 4000 mark, and I’ve never seen so few Cardiff fans either.

Will be interesting to see what the attendance is next week against Dundee
Ken uttered a phrase not heard in a while after the Cardiff game. 'Good seats still available' So I'm guessing it's not selling well at present.

Product on the ice.... People then think they are **** and not worth the price of a ticket, parking and all the other bits and bobs for a evening out.

'Good seats still available' So I'm guessing it's not selling well at present. Could be the on ice product or it could be due to the cost of living. I don't think it's really a simple either/or. Better product on the Ice would likely attract more fans or some fans back. However some fans would still have to cut back no mater what because they literally cannot afford it. Then you have that grey area about "value for money". If you've got significantly less disposable income compared to this time last year, you'll be looking at your spending and if you had to choose between say a Forest/County game for you and your family or Panthers, you might decide the others are better value for your enjoyment. I think Panthers are also probably feeling an extra squeeze as the 2 football teams are doing a better job at attracting crowds (and a better job on the pitch). Compared to 2016/17 season where Panthers crowds were approaching their peak and the football teams approaching a low point; Forest averaged just under 20,000 and County just under 5,000. Those numbers today are just under 30,000 and County are now over 10,000. Obviously some of that increase will be in away fans, but you're still talking about 15,000 extra sports fans at those games now. If you love football and Hockey, you can watch County tearing up League 2 for the same price as Panthers or you can watch Forest play in the best league in the world. If Panthers are below par* and you can only afford 1, which would you honestly go for? *This might be a bit harsh so early in the season, but the point stands
