Yeah that pretty much sums it up Baggy. Once they got going they were just better than us. First period they actually looked pretty poor.
I thought Dubeau was ok today, looked less 'busy' than he normally does. Whether Jones is better or not I've no idea, only saw him playing against us and I think he lost that one.

Thought we were great until 3-0. Came fast out the blocks and deservedly in front. From then on a complete car crash. Some of our defending is embarrassing at times

Obviously I haven't seen the Panthers play but my belief has been all season that they play to their ability level and get beat by teams with better players. They have my sympathies.

2 very soft goals really. Team still seems to have the poncing around with trying perfect passes instead of actually aiming something at the net though

Dont think Debeau can have any blame put on him tonight. Thought he was quite solid.
However it continues to infuriate me that we dont just stick with a hot goalie. If Jones was so good last night then he plays tonight. I really do despise the modern way(at least at Panthers under numerous coaches) of chopping and changing goalies. This team find defending hard enough as it is without having to adjust to flip flop with different goalies every game. I've not seen Jones yet, well not in a Panthers jersey anyway but It sounds like he is better than Debeau so he should be playing every game until his form drops or gets injured.

To say that had 8 goals I found that quite a dull game to watch. The arena seemed very subdued right from opening face off and the game wasn't much better even when we were 3-0 up.
Giants are a better team than us...simple.

Oh, and I was staggered by the elbows call on Caruso. I was in the building so no clear replays that people perhaps got online. Live and from the replays on the big screen it was a terrible call. Went to make a perfectly legal hit and if anything looked worse because he only partially got him. If he did actually get him with a raised elbow though surely he should have been kicked out for a dangerous hit to the head.

I don't think the principle point of contact was Erikkson's head, but I think it was shoulder to jaw. Caruso's momentum seemed a bit uppish to me in that one from the replays, he could've hit him lower down.

In real time it looked shoulder to shoulder, even on replays I can’t see there being much in it. I feel that the refs raised their arm based on the perceived outcome.

Even at 3-0 up we didn't have any control in the game. Harked back to early season, Hammond trying too much, Anderson one good period then disappears, Brady no product, defence too many blind passes and turnovers. Crying out for a proper centreman. After a few weeks of looking up the league table we are back to looking over our shoulder at the teams gathering below.

So I'd expect him to be one of the go to players when we fall behind. But he's invisible, just dishing and dumping last night. No-one tried anything different in the last 10,-it was like they were just waiting for the final two mins to pull the goalie.

Still, when Panthers get the puck deep in the D, they are far too prone to making short passes into high traffic areas, often in front of the net, which often result in turnovers. Once you get the puck in the D zone, surely you should be playing low percentage stuff to keep it and get it back over the blue line?
Poor game management last night, let a good team back into it, from a 3-0 lead with 25 gone. 3-0 up at home with 25 gone should rarely result in a loss, no matter who you're playing. That hurts.

Hope you had a good time at mum's. Probably not in the best of moods… Cake was to be had, so it took the edge of throwing away a 3 goal lead somewhat easier. As i said before just started watching them again after a long break but god nothing really changes, Giants were far the better team. Still amazes me the amount of support base panthers have and its lacklustre teams more or less year on year. New chap who does the crowd does a good job though, can lead the crowd to water but can`t make it drink.

Before that they looked to have taken quite a hit. Some of the lowest attendances i'd seen in the NIC. There must be some improved marketing bringing in new fans helping to boost in recent weeks. That and plenty of feeebies. It's either a very long time since you have been or Ken has just developed his style so much over the years you dont realise it's the same guy. I couldn't tell you how long but he has been at it quite some time now(10years+ perhaps). I will say though, I wasn't convinced when he first started but he has grown on me enormously. Not sure if it's been the changes since GM left us but his style has changed a hell of a lot in the last few years to.

TBF it looked well attended all round the bowl, not just in the corner blocks where freebies are given out.

How did Lindgren play in this game? Looked fairly solid, nothing flashy. Strange line up, keeping Ricci on D so went with 7 dmen but Hazeldine not used, and having 11 forwards so couldnt roll 4 complete lines. Came out well and the first period completely outplayed belfast, but once they got into a stride we had no answer. Notable that the big cheer for another wonder save from Dubeau is because he was caught out of position, again. Mind you only does it a few times a game unlike Brassard who can be caught out of position a few times a period. Feel that this season is going to be a complete write off and Pacha needs to start looking at next beginning with the coaching staff, don't think CN can cut it, unlike other coaches when behind or playing poorly can motivate the players to up their game, we don't. He did well for us the first time and left to try and progress in better leagues but ends up back in Nottingham. because we made him an offer to come back or because he had no job having been relased by his previous team. Find a coach who can motivate a team, a proven one, with actual results and not one who can talk the talk. Sign a team with a balance of skilled forwards and gritty players who will play with that edge.

I said when Graham left that not much would change until they change the players. It was painfully obvious to see despite some people not wanting to admit it. You can bring in any coach you want but this team isn’t good enough to compete with Guildford, Sheffield, Belfast and Cardiff over the season.
