It still doesn't wash with me I'm afraid.. why would the arena charge panthers thousands for a cancelled booking when it could remain empty anyway?

Because, by the same token, it could be full of people watching a gig, or darts, or something else. Contingent bookings are anywhere's least favourite? Can I book a table for 6 people at 8pm? Lovely. We'll only be there if we don't get battered in town, though. Keep the table free just in case, will you...?

That's nowhere near the same though and the percentages of that table is more likely to be taken up regardless as it's a public place.. the arena bowl isn't a public space and people can't just turn up and skate on it.. (that's what the 2nd pad is for) so my original question is THE MAIN BOWL booked out 7 days a week?

You would like to think a deal could be done with the arena even a goodwill gesture. Say only pay half price rental if game 3 wasn’t played. After all, if there is no game takes place then there are far less in costs for the arena to cover.

So in other words then there should be ample ice time available then 😉

It looks like it's sold better than last year but still way down on previous seasons before that.
I'll wait to see if the unlikely event of us making the final 4 happens before I make a decision.

Looking at the arena these are the seats currently left. All of Block 1 & 2 Sheffield 300 left Coventry 57 left Belfast 5 left Guildford 4 left Manchester 230 left Glasgow 332 left Dundee 126 left Cardiff 106 left Panthers 309 left Fife 228 left
That's around 1697 still available but I assume if either Panthers or Steelers make the weekend they will sell out.

Seems like there's been a surge in ticket sales for semi finals day today now that they've made more tickets available to the fans of the 4 teams that have qualified. Blocks 9,10,12,17,18,19 and to a lesser extent 11 have seen lots of tickets snapped up. Squeelers still struggling to sell there block 3 allocation. Block 1 & 2 still seemingly not on sale (arena website at least)
If Panthers fans are sharing a block with Fife that could get interesting...

Latest figures show that Sheffield have been allocated Blocks 1-5 with 500 tickets still available. Block 6 Coventry 51 left Block 7 Belfast 7 left Block 8 Guildford 4 left Block 9 Manchester 35 left Block 10 & 11 Clan 188 left Block 12 dundee 25 left Block 12 Cardiff 90 left top rows Block 13 & 14 Cardiff 32 left Block 15-17 part 18 & 19 Panthers 187 left Block 18-19 Fife 57 left
Still around 1100 tickets left in the bowl

Finally the POFW is losing its allure. I can understand the likes of Belfast and Cardiff fans not snapping up seats due to the cost of hotels, travel etc, but Panthers and Steelers fans snubbing it, wow!!. We've had a crap season so I can sort of understand our fans not bothering, but I'm really surprised at the Steelers giving it a boot into touch.

1. Get rid of that first Sunday game. 2. Bring in something new in place. England v Scotland juniors? 3. Mascot on ice race. 4. Talented ice personnel ( barrel jumpers/speed skating etc) Put on an ice show between periods.

1. Get rid of that first Sunday game. 2. Bring in something new in place. England v Scotland juniors? That was always terrible too, England just used to thrash the Scots. Either get rid of it, play just the final in the afternoon, reduce the opening times and the price of the tickets (giving up some money, haha), or come up with something that creates a meaningful game - perhaps sponsor a competition in a lower level with the final being scheduled for this spot, a significant enough prize fund to make the teams fight hard to win (shelling out money, haha). Even if the hockey wasn't great standard it might at least get tasty, and it's better than watching some hungover blokes wishing they were anywhere else.

Yes just play the final, instead of these pointless fillers.

That Mickey Mouse 3rd place game is only there to try to warrant the ticket price, they say it’s for 4 games although no one goes. They just don’t want the weekend price divided by 3 as it’s too expensive.

The worst thing about the 3rd/4th place game isn’t the fact it exists, it is actually the people that go and act as if it a meaningful cup final … there’s plenty of them!

Yep the only good thing ever about the stupid 3rd v 4th game was the year the Devils players really took the pee especially in warm up. I can still see them all now sitting on the ice in a circle waving their sticks in the air like a troop of baton twirling majorettes. 🤣🤣🙈

Happy clapping on a whole new level If the final was in Cardiff and my team had tried their nuts off all year, I’d go to the 🥉 game. Trouble is last time that was true it was 1994.
