This will be a good test to see what levels we're at compared to Cardiff. I think Berry will start this one. Would like to see us get a win on home ice before the season starts.

Predict a 3-1 home victory. Fast, quick passing offensive game can see Panthers squeeze the Devils 'pips'.

It always tends to be a good, entertaining game when we play Devils, I’m going with 5-3 Panthers with Hammond grabbing a couple of goals.

3-2 Devils win in OT, hope it’s a high energy entertaining game with possibly Louis and Gagnon exchanging pleasantries, with the emphasis on entertainment.

Sorenson's injured apparently, think it's 0-0 still.

Cox scores for Cardiff, 0-1 after 2 periods.

Dull as dishwater so far!
10 shots vs 8 shots showing on the board after 2 periods tells the story for me.
My first game this season and on this showing, it's not been much different to last season.

Hey, azbates and wannabe still on a correct prediction here. Has to be said, not good score wise at home.

It's certainly not looking like a vintage year for Lou's grapes.

When you saw the size of the Cardiff d-men against our forwards, made me realise the futility of constantly chipping the puck in and trying to win it back. Ferrara showed up more tonight, forward lines need finalising.

Mmmm it’s not going too well is it ! 🙄 No, and Graham wasn't watching the same game that I was. If that's how the NIC is going to be a horrible place to come and play it will have more to do with the roadworks on the M1 than anything a team will see when they get on the ice here. This year's Cardiff team is a shadow of previous years. Some great players but the league has been misjudged horribly and these small forwards are going to get wiped all over the ice week in and week out. Pasha is going to need to step in here shortly and sort things out. We are a team that a player like Charlie Combs would transform. No power forward, no size, no agitating, no spark of magic. The defense? Well, that's sure to get better with ice time but at the moment Dubeau is carrying it virtually singel handed

We are a team that a player like Charlie Combs would transform. Isn't Combs quite small too, thought he was 5'6 or something? I'll give them more time before making any judgement. We're much changed in all departments, there's very little continuity from last year (which is a good thing) and it'll take a while. I'm not convinced of the sense in that midweek game though (although we did at least get a win), a full week's training might've been more beneficial. I assume they give them a rest day the day after the game. At least after tomorrow they have a training week leading up to Guildford.

I thought we looked good in the 1st and we didn’t make the most of our possession and opportunities in that period. We should have had a goal in the 2nd where Hammond was bearing down on net in the slot but instead of shooting decided to try a behind the back pass to lay it on a plate for Brady. We fell apart defensively in the 3rd though which was disappointing.
Graham made a good point about Cardiff being further ahead in their training, they’ve also kept a good core together so there’s chemistry there. We also saw some mixed up lines due to Sorenson missing out which wasn’t handy. Not the end of the world tonight, hopefully Graham gets a few things improved for tomorrow.
