Shake off the cobwebs, hopefully see a few bits of excitement and a tease of what our players are capable of. Also interested to see how the 2 netminders fair. I presume Dubeau for this one and Berry in for the away leg? Im not expecting the British lads to see much ice time in these games, if at all this season. Who knows. I've enjoyed the off season, but I'm glad hockey's back now.

Both teams have firepower so can see this being quite a high scoring game especially whilst players adapt to new systems/lines etc. Unsure who will come out on top, would be nice to get a win at home to start us off and keep the off-season momentum going but not the end of the world.
Over 8 goals in the game is my prediction

It would be great if we could put a marker down tonight and get a big win. Although it’s pre-season there’s going to be some atmosphere in the NIC later

Have the Trams stopped offering event tickets? No longer an option on the ticket machines and no longer advertised on the Panthers website.
Don't remember seeing this happen, but it's been a while since I tried to get the tram.

One potential issue, they unveiled a new banner to honor GM, but they don't appear to have included the retired numbers. Hope they have a solution to put them back up somewhere, preferably in the rafters...  |

No better way to start the new era and optimism than scoring 52 seconds in. Seems kinda perfect.
Once our Forwards get in sync as there were a few loose passed, we're going to be deadly and we've already scored 4 well taken goals, mind you, there's were well taken too.
They have got to post that video of the Sheffield fan in the Panther Block, it was one of the funniest things I've seen in a while once it started panning out.

The webcast was, by and large, very good. Some early dodgy sound issues were resolved, although the game clock kept going for a burton. Jono and Dan were very good, IMO. I've thought Dan could be a bit of a cheerleader at times in the past but was very balanced for this one. They're still not worth 15 quid, but anything for Pach & GG  Happy with the game really, think we got a bit leggy as you'd expect but nothing to worry about, and a lot of promise from the forward lines certainly. The Hammond/Brady/Welychka line looked like they'd played together for ages. Good game. Edit - to add, the tribute to GM was very well done and what should've been done last season. I don't think we ever got anything that well done at the time. |
