Thought the game on Wednesday Guildford v Belfast was a CUP game: it was. But initially seemed to have been a dual with the league stats added there with this result. Are we going down that road again? No, it was an error. It doesn't say anything in the match report and nothing that it was a league game on the GRS. Because it wasn't. EDIT: obviously an error , league changed back again ( as Panthers take their whole incomplete standings down and revise for upload) after two days nearly.

Panthers first loss in 10 games this season when leading after the first.
Also noteworthy that Panthers have been outshot in the last 5 games, having previously only been outshot in 10 of the previous 29. Record when outshooting the opposition - 21 points out of a possible 38 = 0.553 Record when being outshot - 10 points out of a possible 30 = 0.333

Congratulations JORDAN KELSALL on his 200th game for Nottingham.
The meagre alterations needed have been done.

Panthers powerplay is 1 for its last 20 opportunities, 37 minutes and 30 seconds, with 2 SHGs conceded. The 1 PP in that time that was successful took 109 of the 120 seconds. Overall, 3 for 28 in January, having been 5 for 32 in December, 4 for 14 in November, 4 for 16 in October and 1 for 8 in September. What was approaching the league's best is now among the league's worst. Illustrated below, in the "Rolling 10 game" PP stats. From the best to the worst. Attachments:

I was scanning the shop merchandise for sales and came across the Matthew MYERS stuff. One T-shirt had all of his seasonal stats emblazoned on the back. Mostly incorrect as I thought because it was different to mine. Widely acknowledged as an authority in British Ice Hockey, statistician Martin C Harris had his numbers penned to the yearly Ice Hockey Annual by Stewart Roberts esq. I had taken the stats of mine from there at times to check upon (have noticed a few errors too, probably from print) but thought I'd check the OFFICIAL stats that I had received each year from the EIHL statto's. Yup the Annuals , officials and mine all tallied. Now most of the time the league standings etc are copied from the EIHL OS (as are with other clubs) to our own. But what happened here? Who is getting these wrong? All together,11 games, one goal and 15 assists out. No wonder MM's stats are being celebrated a tad earlier than my totals. Only 05-06, 06-07 and 21-22 seasons are bang on.

Stats up, with about 8 weeks to go. Who will win the league? Will Fife make the CUP final? Any chance Panthers in the play-offs?
Iron men of the season, so far...Brady, Brassard, Gagnon, Kelsall, Myers and Summers.

Updated player appearances - at least. With no goals or penalties not much to do.
Belfast v Guildford top of table clash today.

Panthers PP under GG/CN
Powerplay GG 8/34 23.5% CN 11/67 16.4%
Penalty Kill GG 43/56 76.8% CN 61/70 87.1%
CN has marginally improved the overall special teams play, but Panthers still occupy mid table positions in these ranks. Panthers have the worst PP of any EIHL team in their last 15 GP. (5/36 = 13.9%)

Major check on these stats which all tally. League plus Cup = Total stats Also tally with Official stats on the OS.
- The OS stats for netminders still not carrying Pims and actual TOI (just penning to the minute from games) Plus they need to update still. European qualification notes still refer to the 21/22 season.

As regards TOP GOAL SCORER and 'penalty takers'. The actual most goals scored can highlight a player yet another player can be the 'best' as regards goals scored because on average they have had a better success rate.
for example re goal scorers
From the top 28 top goal scorers all time the results will be
Adey 796 goals Zamick 624 Strongman 400 Clarke D. 381 Weber 326
but on average 'all time'
Dorian 1.87 Crapier 1.86 Keys 1.79 McKay 1.64 Adey 1.10 Lambert 0.99 Kurtenbach 0.82 Strongman 0.79 Keward D. 0.75
then there is the argument that goals were more 'handy' in the older years. True, so bringing it closer to these days from the 28 and it is.
McAslan 0.67 Clarke D. 0.49 Hadden 0.45 Leach 0.43 Myers 0.22 Lachowicz 0.15
then take it out of the top 28 and you'll find players under 100 games for us (51 goals or more)
Perlini F. Brebant Peacock McDonald K. McDonald G. Craighead Kwong Withenshaw Malone Blasdell McLachlan Cooney
there will be others obviously over 100 games with 51+ goals too. Fresher Easson Ling Lawrence LaForge Mosey Laxdel Matthews Drouin Wallenberg Graham Dallman Waghorn Jinman Bremner Betteridge Molin Morgan Levers Hudson Cadotte Benedict Perlini B Dougherty Bergin Urquhart O'Higgins Galbraith Beauregard Farmer Allen Smith L. Francis Neilson Premak Young
PENALTY TAKERS all years top 28
Jimmy Keys Neil McKay 3.15 Ross Lambert 2.97 Simon Hunt 2.44 Darren Durdle 2.07 Jamie Crapper 1.70 Pat Casey 1.63 Dan Dorian 1.57 Dwayne Keward 1.57 Shaun McAslan 1-51 Ashley Tait 1.50 Simon Perkins 1.33 Terry Kurtenbach 1.28 Matt Myers 1.26 David Clarke 1.15 Paul Adey 1.13 Gerry Watson 0.97 Greg Hadden 0.96 Wally Black 0.95 Nigel Rhodes 0.92
The facts as regards 'all time' top five
Lepine 2.58 from 814 games Hunt 2-44 from 517 games Waghorn 2.14 from 935 Neilson 2.05 from 821 Clarke D. 1.15 from 900
STATS eh!

In case anyone needs depressing any more...
Welsh is as cold as cold can be just now (apart from in Cardiff). He has (recent Cardiff game excluded) 1 PPA in 2023 (13 games), and is -14 in those games. He is goal-less in his last 16 games, last one on Boxing Day, game 25. Sorenson is also struggling, no points, -3, in his last 6 games. Ferrara has one goal (no assists) and -5 in his last 12.
The D aren't much help to our struggling forwards either. Last goal (prior to Lindgren’s OT winner in Cardiff) from a “full time” D man was 23 December in Glasgow, from Brassard.
It's a wonder we can score none just now.

I would like to see Adey's stats spilt between Heineken league and superleague. As I should imagine there would be a vast difference. He would probably be towards the top of the averages for Heineken league and look more like Hadden and Leach's stats for superleague.

I just had a quick look at just Adey's league (no cup or playoffs) game stats for the two leagues. For the Heineken league he averages 1.82 goals a game. For the Superleague it's 0.525.

I think that's what you were referring to. The drop in figures once the Super league era got underway. Just the one game in Elite time.

That was it Spik. Pretty impressive stats over both era's. Just think it is fairer in on Paul to highlight it.
