Massy and Boivin are the only two on that list who would be on my list, if I'm brutally honest. Boivin will generate some interest elsewhere I'd imagine, a 20+ goalscorer will be sought after. Massy's +/- was remarkable given the team he was on. In the 26 league games he played, he ended at +13; Thow was -11 in that span, the rest of the D combined (including Thow) was -16. Remarkable.

OK...obviously not NEW signings. From this list who can we cross off as definitely not coming back? ie) who have signed elsewhere or retired etc. CARRNORRISH MATHESONDOMINGUELANE CAROZZABOIVIN THOWRICHARDS HEDBERGBecause this is the options to return should the club make that decision. Wouldn't be fussed if none of them came back, either too old, injury prone, or not good enough. Boivin is a good player but needs to be 6 inches and 2 stone bigger. Norrish was a reasonalby steady Dman, Lane was ok in the faceoff zone, and Richards got into the gritty areas. But at the end of the day we won nowt and there are better out there, and as someone with some knowledge said would they make the squad of our rivals, if not why should we want them.

I'd be happy with Richards and Boivin to return but none of the others. But equally happy for Gary to sign improvements on these two.

The Nottingham Panthers can today confirm the signing of netminder Alex Dubeau for the 2022/23 Premier Sports Elite League season. Alex joins the Panthers from DEL side Nürnberg Ice Tigers with whom he spent the majority of the 2021/22 www.panthers.co.uk/home/220627-panthers-ink-dubeau

I hope I’m misreading things a bit but I’m not seeing much of an upgrade.
ECHL save percentages:- Dubeau .902 Carr .906

Looks like, from what he says and from the limited ice time he had last season, that he's another like Ben Bowns who loves to play every game, loves to win things and thinks that Panthers will bring him both opportunities. Good attitude to hear

You're only as good as your last season. Last season he played 9 games Yes because he was a back up for a team in a superior league to the EIHL.

Played for the coach at Fort Wayne Good to know the coach rates him from personal experience, especially since GG also had Zach Fucale between the pipes that year. Sounds like maybe Dubeau's looking for an opportunity to grab the number 1 spot on a team and run with it. Also good to see

Last season he played 9 games Yes because he was a back up for a team in a superior league to the EIHL. Well I hope I’m wrong and he turns out to be quality but on paper he doesn’t stand up compared to the likes of Besko or Carruth or Garnett (Although he was a bit of a disappointment) to me

I'm not dissapointed but im more with PantherLee on this one. I just dont see it as a nailed on top signing. His stats where he has played a good chunk of games in a season dont stand out as anything special. But then he has had plenty of AHL call ups and you dont sign in DEL 1 without having something about you.
Doesn't look bad though and it is deffinaitly the type of signing that could turn up and be great at this level. Here's hoping.
I still believe he'll be part of an import Tandem so let's wait and see how the goalie group comes together.

ECHL save percentages:- Dubeau .902 Carr .906 Dubeau's percentage is dragged down by that one game for Orlando where he registered a 0.860, if you take that out of the equation his average is a 0.909. I've every faith that given GG has coached him before he knows what he's like as a character and that'll he do a good job for us.

Disagree.. can see Graham bringing in a Brit goalie who can play the odd games When Carr was signed I said he was ordinary.. and that's how it turned out.. I see this guy as being above average and has played for GG so he knows what he's getting

Save % ? Former leagues? Games played? All of the above. His career path is very comparable to Kevin Carr pre panthers with similar ECHL save percentages and a short spell in a good euro league whereas the names I’ve mentioned have consistently higher save percentages and have had more prolonged spells as first choice goalies in top leagues

At first glance and after listening to the Dan interview I thought oooh wow sounds like a great signing, then looked at the stats which are rather average. A wait and see I suppose.

Comparing stats in the same league is pointless.. Carr may have played behind better defences for example... Whereas if you put up decent stats in a better league it's been against better forwards.
I'm very confident this guy will be far better than Carr !.
