Guess if we win the last game against Austria we still stay up on the head to head as we'd both end tied on 4pts? Regulation win and we'll stay up. Can't see it unfortunately. The Norway and Latvia results feel pretty terminal for our stay in the World group.

1-0 GB after 1.
Just need to get another couple but as with any lead it's not safe.

2-0 after 2, now is the time for heroes, time for us to put this game to bed in the 3rd and retain our place in the Top Division for another year.

I hope we don’t regret those break aways. Grit needed in tiredness. Let’s hold our breaths for this third and will that clock down. Can we have another goal please.

Same old story, get into a good position then shoot ourselves in the foot.

To be fair they look like they're running on fumes, but yeah coughing it up behind your own net, lazy slashing penalty, it's looking like another missed opportunity.
Ah, 3-4, that's that.

I had a feeling that we'd lose this, based on yesterday's meek surrender.
We get ourselves into a good position only to mess it up when it matters.

Have to make sure it's not now ages til we're back in the world group, we're not miles off the lower end of these groups.

Have to make sure it's not now ages til we're back in the world group, we're not miles off the lower end of these groups. I seriously think we'll see how much we've developed the last few years when we play 1A again. It was a dream to get up here a few years ago. It's been a dream to stay there. Now though, there will be a real expectation to compete to come back up. This team had 4 or 5 top players missing. Bring those guys back in(probably see 1 or 2 of the older guys hamg them up) and this team looks a major upgrade on the one that got promoted. People continue to talk about how import levels damage GB but every member of this roster has played entirely within the EIHL era and some even in the Superleague. Surely that tells us perhaps the levels arn't actually too far off. And those that say where are the next guys to replace the old hats....Well I think we've seen plenty of them this tournament. Add Ollie and Kirk to that too. The future is bright for GB and I expect to see them back at the top level within the next few years.

Whilst not laying sole blame on him, with the amount of players missing for us we really needed Bowns to be the usual GB level he plays at but unfortunately we got the bog standard EIHL Bowns which was never going to be good enough.
Cade Neilson was a standout, hoping he performs well through his NCAA career and leads him to as high a standard as possible.
I don’t hold the same level of optimism as some for the level below, we risk losing some of our experienced players which could be a huge issue for us. If they keep playing then we might stand a chance of challenging for promotion again but it’ll be tough especially with the way other nations get massively underestimated by the GB fans.

If they keep playing then we might stand a chance of challenging for promotion again but it’ll be tough especially with the way other nations get massively underestimated by the GB fans. while I defended him earlier, I can't deny Bowns was at partly at fault for a couple of goals with his positioning, and could have done better on the 3rd. But it's gone now. We can only look forward. As i said earlier, it's time for the younger Brits to step up and stake a claim. i've been disappointed with Ferrara in these championships, he's had little to no impact. Same with Conway, I know he didn't have Piccinich and Goodwin to help him but he's not shown much at all. Mosey should have been playing as a rushing d-man instead of on the wing, he's also had little impact. GB will need a regular scorer going forward, we can't always score rebounds or team goals. I think it's time some of the older guys had a rest, although Matt Myers seemed to get better with age. U'm not suggesting dropping everyone over 30, but we do need a bit of a shake up.

At least we'll have home advantage next year.
'Nottingham has been chosen by the IIHF to host the World Championship’s Division 1A from the 29th April 2023 & 5th May 2023.
We will take on Lithuania, Romania, Italy, Poland & South Korea'. taken from steeltalk

Well we know we can beat South Korea, brings back memories of that Ben O'Connor penalty shot.
Lithuania are definitely beatable, we can beat Romania, Poland are doable, Italy I would rate as favourites to go back up over us.
