Think that expectation is going to vastly reduced for this year. We are really going to struggle offensively with Kirk, Hammond, Betteridge, Connolly and looking at the highlights of the warm up games, the team don't seem to be as sharp as they could be. Russell is going to have to manage the netminding carefully, to avoid both getting overworked. All games on Freesports.

The friendly results have been a bit worrying, not so much losing but conceding plenty and (I think) being shutout 3 times.
Could be some long games next week.

I'm just hoping we keep the scoring respectable and don't get smashed, then again Denmark done us 8-0 & 2-0 in the friendlies.
I don't have high hopes and think we'll be relegated, not being negative but realistic

Can't recall any young player representing his country in previous Senior IIHF Worlds who came out of a level Cade Neilson just played in. USA Second Tier Junior League (NAHL).

Denmark's opening win at the WC perhaps adds some context to the GB warm up game results, as they beat Kazakhstan 9-1.

Decent opening period, although there are still 2 periods to go, plus OT & a shootout if we're really still in it by then

2-0 Czechia after 2, it could have been 3 if they hadn't missed the penalty shot.

Solid performance in a 5-1 loss. Like to see more from the top line tomorrow morning. Corey must be so proud of Cade.

GB 3-0 down, definitely heading back to 1A at this point

GB 3-0 down, definitely heading back to 1A at this point Don’t give up yet. Whilst the refs are definitely not on our side. We have other games. By the way what’s the going rate on buying a penalty these days?. Looks like some super glue needed on those Norwegian sticks.

With the teams we're facing next. Sweden, USA & Finland I'd disagree and say you're being too optimistic. We're yet to get a point, Norway will get 3 today, we're not getting anything from our next 3 games so I fail to see where we're getting a win from.

Based on the rankings Austria should be our best bet, can't see it though.

Disappointing, but a point on the board at least

Disappointing, but a point on the board at least Tough way to go down on penalties but a point looked unlikely for quite a while so will have to settle for that. Feel for Cade. That's a lot of pressure

Disappointing, but a point on the board at least Given other results so far in the group I can't help thinking a win over Norway would have been particularly useful to keep them below is for now

However it will probably go down to the wire with that last game. We so nearly took all 3 points...wow.

I think this one is beyond a spik comeback. 5 down after 1.

Tonight's match shows what can happen on a bad night. Not blaming Bowns although his rebounds are coming out central not to the corners. Expect Whistle might get some time tonight.

This is why you need to be realistic with expectations, we've been lucky to still be in the Top Division and I've not really seen anything that changes my mind about our chances.

Disappointing, but a point on the board at least We definitely could have done with winning this one against Norway now. A missed opportunity I fear
