An interesting rumour from the more reliable Twitter account, which is Garet Hunt signing for us. I think that could be a quite a signing.

Can definately play a bit too. Interestingly has his jersey retired by Stockton Thunder in the ECHL (now the Stockton Heat of AHL) I would LOVE for this to be true, exactly what we need for that 3rd energy line

Most of us know you can't throw a team together of just point scorers. You need workers & deterrents to be a successful unit. Skill players need room & a certain freedom to play.
Perhaps there should be a hockey sense IQ test here before you are allowed to join.... Saying that though is there was then I wouldn't be able to type this... Ignore me.

Hunt does look like a very effective 3rd/4th line forward. Would be a big upgrade on Tousignant

I’m sure GG will know a lot about him also as he would have seen him plenty of times with those years in the ECHL. Another thing I’ve also seen is that GG in one of his podcasts stated he was looking for guys who have worn the C or A in their careers which is something that Hunt has done for many seasons

Not sure who or how this rumour has been generated or if it’s a load of balls but I’m keeping everything crossed

Hopefully Hunt is determined to come here and dominate. Would be a massive fans favourite!

We’ll be in for some fireworks if we do get this guy. After a fight and game misconduct last season he showed his displeasure by throwing a trash can on to the ice towards the linesman 😂

Is it really worth signing a heavyweight like Hunt anymore when there is only going to be 1 or 2 other heavyweights in the league and it’s unlikely they’ll be playing for our title rivals? There’s definitely still a place in hockey for the tough guy but I think someone like Faryna who wasn’t a heavyweight but would still fight anyone would be more valuable than a true heavyweight that only has a couple of people to fight.

My impression is he’s very much a Faryna type (granted I’ve only seen YouTube clips). Will stand up for himself/ teammates but will inject energy and checking to a third line, plus got decent point production in the coast all things considered. Don’t get the impression he’s just some knuckle dragger.

I'd take him for that 4th line .. he's proved to put up points as well as pims .. if he can a bit that's a box ticked.

From the rumour mill on Twitter (take from it what you will) Mathieu Gagnon and Craig Puffer to Panthers Puffer looks a good player and signing Gagnon as well as Hunt is overkill. Hunt looks like he can still play a bit but I don't think Gagnon is a good enough to play for us.

Puffer looks handy. Gagnon would seemingly fit what GG says he’s looking for having been wearing an ‘A’ in the ECHL the last two seasons too.
These rumour accounts keep missing on Panthers though, so I wouldn’t hold my breath on either.
Interesting to see on their social media that Dubeau and Sylvestre are very close friends, given that rumour from a month ago. The two of them currently on a trip away together with JS Dea (who is a bit too much to ask for right now).

Gagnon is plenty good enough for Panthers. He just needs to positioned properly. Last time he was here he pretty much ended up playing top pairing minutes because of injuries and the poor team that year. If he comes as a bottom pairing Dman he should be a good fit. Very capable but would want better aswell to log the bigger minutes.

Personally don't think Belfast, Cardiff or Sheffield would go after Gagnon and if we sign Hunt then I don't really know what Gagnon brings

A solid defender too.

I'd take Gagnon, would stop us getting bullied as we have been in the past. You need some toughness.

Cardiff already have simular in Mark Louis!
