Well this should have been a nice positive post after enjoying a nice fun smashing of the Blaze(How I was feeling at the 50 minute mark). Instead im sat here, writing this with steam coming out of my ears. Firstly the officials made some woeful calls tonight. Including a shocker on the Blaze which lead to our 2nd goal. At almost 52 minutes though Domingue gets jumped and turtles. The officials give Marsh 2+2 for roughing(should've been 5) and somehow find a way to justify giving Domingue 2mins for Roughing. That's not really why Im fuming though. Im furious at Panthers reaction. Domingue leaves the game with what looks like a serious injury as a result of the play. Marsh sits his 4minutes and then at the next whistle skates, unhindered to his bench. Not even 1 word from afar was said by any Panthers player. He then got at least one other shift. Again, nothing. Yes, i'm annoyed we dont have a fighter to do the role but that shouldn't have mattered. Somebody should have destroyed him the second he was back in the ice. I'd have even have advocated a cheap shot or big nasty hit on this occasion. Absoloutly gutless. Your team won 9-1 and you are upset that none of the players earned themselves a suspension by getting into a pointless fight in the last five minutes? OK… Someone should have stepped up. Can guarantee if it was the other way round it would have happened. Our squad is so weak

Instigating a fight in the last 5 minutes or a cheap shot is a risky move. If DoPS give you a 2 match or greater ban (and they may well), you're missing crucial play-off games.

Which bit saying Hopkins will be very good or the last bit.. Well panthers haven't exactly got form in holding onto their better players have they .. then there's how they treat players ... You need to take your black and gold specs off lad Wait wasn't there some guy called David Clarke? Could have sworn he spent 14years with the team. Or maybe I'm misremembering 😉 Didn't I see his shirt somewhere? I'll take someone wearing black and gold specs anyday, if the only alternative is people wearing mirrored sunglasses....but with the mirrors on the inside Yup the period Clarke spent with the club was stable and not like a circus it is now. We had a strong Brit core and we're pretty successful so another reason for players to consider signing for panthers .. I'm referring to the present day panthers they've been overtaken now

Although I must admit I didn't kmow it'd become 5minutes. Thought it was 2. Comtext is important. It wouldn't have cost us the game and we have also secured 4th place with that win so somebody missing the last game wouldn't have mattered.

As said didn't realise it was last 5. Instigator in last 5 would only be a 1 match ban im sure. Blaze got away with it at least twice last night. Only getting roughing penalties.

The casebook states... "EIHL - Instigator in Final Five Minutes of Regulation Time (or Anytime in Overtime) - A player who is deemed to be the instigator of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation time or at any time in overtime shall be assessed an instigator minor penalty, a major penalty for fighting, and a game misconduct penalty, (2 minor + 5 major + 20 Game misconduct)."
Interestingly, the rules say nothing about dropping the gloves meaning anything in any fighting penalty situation, except that "gloves off first" is an indicator of being the instigator. I think perhaps they should. Gloves off means an automatic 5? <Nips to get popcorn, waits for the pro-fighting brigade to respond...>
Doimingue looked like he'd popped his shoulder? He's done like dinner if so, surely?

Frustrating team as always. Last home game against blaze and the look out of depth and not got a clue, whereas last night an altogether different team. Perhaps more confidence in Downie than Kerlin? Wondered if we took a foot off the gas after two periods at 8-0 up. I would have said that no-one put in a bad performance last night, you get that impression being at the match and not basing opinion on personal predjudices, that being on the Panthers team. Motte had a mare and was clearly rattled after the 2nd went in, Hedley must be pleased he let in one less that the main NM. Worst performance of the night was the officials, the referees were a disgrace how do you get a penalty for being dragged by the back of the jersey to the ice and repeatedly punched. Marsh should be assessed 5+match for excessive roughness because at no time did Domingue raise a hand towards him, not that he could afterwards; but I agree with others, there was no retribution for it. Perhaps if they get them in the QF some might beat the snot out of him; but if blaze play like that in their remaining games then we wont get them as they could end in 8th place.

That be Paws not the supporter. Then again, couldn't script it this season.

I think Domingue was injured by the hit that happened before he was dragged around and punched, which makes it even worse. He was probably in intense pain and unable to defend himself

An excellent win, it's nice to give a team (Other than Edinburgh) a good thrashing. Let's face it if someone said it would be 8-0 after the 2nd Period, you'd assume it would have been the other way around.
Some really well taken goals especially Massy's.
I thought that Downie was impressive not only he make some really good saves and most importantly, he seemed settled and composed which settled my nerves as I didn't think that anything soft was getting through.
I think that this was the game in which they knew that this would be the game that they get the win to clinch 4th and took the bull by the horns.
Also loved that the Announcers played Hot, Hot, Hot
